jawbreaker… did you check your credentials on WA? is 7th semester grades on there?

Linds, I’ve checked it yeah, no 7th semester grades.

And then there’s an empty slot under tests. It turns yellow when I hover my mouse over it. Is that 5th slot where you’re showing 7th semester grades?

Still haven’t heard either. I don’t buy the good/bad defer letters, and I don’t buy the accepted/deferred/rejected timeline either.

There are plenty of other plausible reasons. How about we stop freaking out, and just accept the fact that the email is not yet in our inboxes. It will get there on or before the 23rd, and that’s that.

that blank slot has always been there… but i do not have 7th semester grades because i do not require them. are you sure you are in early action? did you get the ‘get ready’ email on wednesday?

Stanford–Considering you continually bashed this school for the last couple months I can’t assume your essays were strong. If you show no real interest in the school why would they let you in? Michigan looks for students that will fit here and you don’t seem like you would.

Got deferred, seems like no one got accepted?! And do we post or stats here or what?

Yeah. I just searched in my inbox and found an email from Nov. 10 saying I qualified for EA, I have the ‘get ready’ email from Wednesday, and my WA shows No Holds.

well then you should stop worrying! i’m sure you’ll hear tonight.

Lol I’m not that worried. I’m confident in my app, and there’s not much I can do to change it, so I’ll just have to wait! :)

hey i just got deferred…i have a 3.7/4.0 unweighted GPA, a 2070 SAT and a bunch of ec’s. I thought my essays were pretty good but i guess not good enough. I’m kind of disappointed since it seems like people with lower GPA’s and lower SAT’s got in but it’s okay. Just got to keep my head up and hope for the best in April. Good luck everyone!

some posters say deferreds got in as early as a few days or a week after being deferred. But the information at the University’s website says they need a complete look at the full applicant class, and in LSA, fall semester grade reports, before making a decision on who to accept from the deferred list. Seems contradictory that they would start accepting deferreds as soon as the ED applicants from other schools removed their names, or as soon as some others found out about better FA or scholarship packages elsewhere and withdrew, or as soon as those that applied EA and got into UVA or UNC or BC withdrew their names from UM? Sounds like they want to wait until they have all the info on all the applicants in the Spring before letting in some of the deferreds. Can anyone clarify? Besides Fall Semester grades at our H.S. are not even available until early February, and not formally on a stamped document until a few weeks after that (i.e. official transcript which includes an updated class rank as well).

hey everyone! i just check my WA credentials section and i was NOT notified for 7th semester grades. it only says :

Transcript High School Received 10/25/2011
School Report Received 10/25/2011
HS Teacher Evaluation Received 10/25/2011
Tests Received 10/19/2011

However, I DID receive the email with the section saying:

“Please refer to the website [Information for Deferred Students | University of Michigan Office of Admissions](http://www.admissions.umich.edu/deferred) for FAQ’s about the admission process and what to do next. Strong fall semester or second trimester grades may improve your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward your fall semester or second trimester grades when they become available.”

I have no idea what this means!! So confusing…

midnightblue, sounds to me like you’re deferred. The 7th semester vs. no 7th semester thing has been extensively debated and I don’t think it means much. I’d send them your transcript with 7th semester regardless.

it just means its not on your wolverine access yet. you need to send them in.

Yes, i’m definitely deferred! I know that haha. I just don’t understand what people are saying about being flagged for missing 7th semester grades. I’m just going to tell my guidance counselor to send them whenever they’re ready - which I don’t think will be until February.

got accepted today 2100 sat

stanford, I think that you are going to get in-my friend’s daughter had this happen to her a few years back and got in. I would be majorly surprised if you don’t get the golden ticket…it really stinks that you didn’t find out on their first round. Many of the deferred are not going to make the cut, but I don’t think you have to worry too much.

Back from work! ^^

I see there’s some sort of good and bad referral? If so, does this look like a good or bad one:

what is % to be admitted for the deferred applicants ?

riverbirch, I saw some poster said that as many as one-third of those deferred were likely to get acceptances. have you seen any data to either support or refute this? You sound much less optimistic. Doubt guys like stanford would really enroll anyway and UM has probably guessed this–but that is just my opinion. Stanford if accepted and if you also got into any of your other schools applied to would you come to Mich? any thought of changing your screen name to Chicago or Duke or something else or are you still wedded to stanford after the outcome there?
