Anyone else heard anything?

Ugh. Northeasterner here, a few overqualified kids from my school have heard but that’s it. Does them having heard bode badly for me?

South Florida here still haven’t heard anything. My best friend at my school got in last night at like 12:30 though

has ANYONE heard of anyone who got rejected/deffered yet… Knowing the fact that 5 of my friends all got accepted while i was with them, leaving me the lone star makes me go nuts…

as much as i hate to say and am in denial about it as well, if u haven’t heard like myself, it probably means u r deferred…noone has come up with a logical system for the sending out of the emails so unfortunately this is the way it is

Will they be sending emails out all day today or at night again?

all day today

im literally making myself sick from all this stress. hours slept: 2. come on UMICH, not cool.

@stewta4 EXACT SAME FOR ME.

Guys, I literally gave up all hope I waited from 3:30pm to 10 and then went to a friends house hoping I’d get deferred and still kept refreshing my iphone and at 11:30 I got email saying I was IN! (LSA) Don’t give up hope, (also check comments on the official stats thread) I know people with better stats than me who have not heard yet. GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS!

If you think about it, they probably use some form of a mail merge. So LSA admits would be one group, engineering admits another, and so on. Plus then LSA defers, engineering defers, and so on. With the volume of decisions they have to send out (I’ve seen some estimates of 20,000) they probably have to break up those groups into smaller sections to avoid freezing up whatever software and servers they’re using. Who knows how it’s being split up? Maybe by id number, or maybe it’s just totally random. Obviously it moves pretty slow if the difference between the time stamp and actual time received has been about two hours for a lot of people.

I know it’s tough to wait and is very stressful and anxious. Instead of sitting at the computer all day waiting, it’s probably best to just go about your normal routine and just check your email a couple of times throughout the day. Students that were admitted Friday at 6pm don’t have any advantage over those admitted today, or even the 23rd. It seems like when people go out to a movie, go to dinner, or take a nap, that’s when they’ve been getting the email. Don’t they say a watched pot never boils?

Hey guys, I’m LSA out-of-state and haven’t heard a thing yet. I don’t want to jinx anything, but I felt like I was a strong applicant so let’s not give up hope quite yet. Good luck to all of you; let’s just try to enjoy this Saturday and the email comes when it comes :)

I am from memphis Tennessee. Heard last night at like 10 oclock. I got into LSA. I had a 32 ACT. Not too many ECs. Play in a band and stuff. I wrote my Common App essay on the guitar and wrote my michigan essay on arm pit sweat stains. Not sure how I got in but I did.

going on what maddyk said. for all of us who still haven’t heard yet, do any of us believe ourselves to be weak applicants and therefore a deferral or rejection is what you have got going for you? cause like maddyk said, i know my stats are good enough to get me accepted. umich was supposed to be my safety school. but now, i’m starting to doubt myself. -__-

Lindsy, do u know anyone who has gotten into kinesiology yet?

no email so far…
I’m really sure they sent emails to all those accepted applicants…
Go to admitted students’ stats thread, and there is no one who got deferred or rejected

ravens… it is only the first part of the alphabet for the last names for kines

@darkcraft. I don’t know why mate. Usually there are many people who post their deferred or rejected decision, but I don’t think people are really in the mood in post it right now. But yeah man, it’s really confusing, but it’s good if they admit more and reject/differ less.

how many applicants are we expecting for them to admit? anyone have any ideas?

looking at the stats for those who were admitted…ive lost hope.

@cun401722. From what I’ve read, the yield rate is going to be around 37%-39%, which means they’ll be admitting about 16,000 students. I doubt they sent out 16,000 acceptances or anything close to that in one day. Also, since 25,000 people applied EA, close to 8,000 to 10,000 people will be accepted. The rest will either apply for Regular Decision or be deferred for Regular Decision.
