*Official Class of 2016 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread*

Still waiting…

what are 7th semester grades?
mine just said

Please refer to the website [Information for Deferred Students | University of Michigan Office of Admissions](http://www.admissions.umich.edu/deferred) for FAQ’s about the admission process and what to do next. Strong fall semester or second trimester grades may enhance your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward your fall semester or second trimester grades when they become available.

no thats not true… other people from LSA didn’t have their letter ask for 7th semester grades. it just depends on which deferral letter you get (there is 2 different ones). if they were in the first round… they got the same as me.

Mine did not ask for 7th semester grades

my counselor sent my mid-year report ages ago… i thought it was a requirement ?

ohhhhh they just didnt have it mentioned at all?

Maverik11 that is a good thing! we are first pick from the deferrals

Still waiting…

Whatever, if they want me to send them in or not, I still will. I have to submit mid-year report for Duke anyway, so Michigan will get it too.

What percent of deferred students get accepted?

I’m fairly certain everyone has to send in 7th semester grades, including accepted students. They assume you will send them I think.
For the accepted, only really low grades would make any difference (ie majority Cs, Ds, and Fs), going from being a mostly A student to a mostly B student wouldn’t make them rescind your acceptance.

no they just dont mention it. there is two types of deferrals…

 1. The first pick- do not ask for senior year grades… most likely to get in sooner
 2. ask for senior year grades. may not year until may or april

oohh haha i see i have to send my sat2s either way :D

accepted students have to send in a final transcript… and not everyone that is deferred is required to send in 7th semester grades.

Still holdin on for dear life!!!

Yay  i’m IN

any international students waiting??

Just curious. Does anyone think there will be another cycle of acceptances, deferrals, and rejections? Or are today and Monday pretty much the last days (for most people)?

@heyyy123, did u just hear?!

I don’t even understand how they are sending decisions… it would make sense if it was by school but people from my school found out and im still waiting. this is really starting to get to me…

lindsy, sounds encouraging to me the way it is presented. I think if you can somehow show just how interested you are coupled w/anything that evidences a commitment to your intended field, you have a good shot. If you are not deciding until May 1 (the deadline for almost all schools ) you have nothing to lose. Find out who Michigan’s regional rep. is in your area and get in contact w/him or her and start a dialogue w/o being overwhelming. Many deferreds will simply move on to other schools, many acceptances will choose other schools perhaps opening a slot for you. Of course if UM is just one of several places at which you could see yourself being happy, I’d say go on about your business, keep your grades up and enjoy the rest of your senior year.
