*Official Class of 2016 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread*

Balster, you and I are in the same exact boat. Kinda lonely isn’t it?

I am pretty sure there will be some exceptions but the general trend seems to suggest that they have moved on to defferals and eventually will go to rejections

@thebalster i’m pretty sure all acceptances were sent out yesterday… that beings said, it has been clear that the grades and ACT/SAT is not all that Mich looks at. People have gotten in with low scores and people have gotten deferred with high scores. nobody truly knows what Umich is doing though.

Still nothing. Maybe I can outlast the deferrals.

Stats:
GPA: 3.675
SAT: best was 1970
ACT: 33 Composite, 36 Sci, 35 Math 31 reading 33 writing. or something…
Lots of (music) ECs

the good deferral–kinda sounds like— the good cancer.

@nspire25 bad one… mine didn’t mention grades or sending anything in at all.

i think there will be more acceptances after some more deferrals.

@pleaseadvise LOL

@tina9294 apparently, there’s a rumor that today is deferral day, and monday is rejections…

Could you guys tell me… does this sound like the “good” or “Bad” deferral?
After multiple individualized and comprehensive evaluations of your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2012, we believe that you have something uniquely valuable to contribute to our campus. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, your application has been deferred for a final decision until a later date.

Your application will be re-evaluated, and a final decision will be made based on how your credentials and academic achievements contribute to the composition and quality of this year’s freshman applicant pool. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than mid-April, 2012.

Please refer to the website [Information for Deferred Students | University of Michigan Office of Admissions](http://www.admissions.umich.edu/deferred) for FAQ’s about the admission process and what to do next. Strong fall semester or second trimester grades may enhance your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward your fall semester or second trimester grades when they become available.

Joined b/c I don’t understand Umich admissions. 3.8 UW 2200, was deferred in the first batch earlier this afternoon. from a competitive public high school, and some kids that got in from my school did not even take the hardest classes. puzzling. great essays, decent ECs, and two really good recs.

I think so far, we all got the good email. I think the 2nd batch is getting the bad one?
I was lurking around in the forums for the 2015 ones, and there’s one that asks for grades straight out in the 1st paragraph.

no… the good email doesn’t ask for any grades at all. it was the one that was sent out at 12:15 this morning. so only the people who git their email at 2:15 have the good email.

@lindsyoxo someone last year got this one…
Thank you for your freshman application to the University of Michigan. We need this additional information and time to ensure that we give your application the best possible review. We will notify you of a final decision on your application by mid-April.

funny story about my essay. i happened to have put in my best effort for the umich essay, even though umich wasn’t my first choice. it was as if, the more i wrote and thought about it, the more i wanted to go to umich until it reached the point where i didn’t want to go to anywhere BUT umich. i hope my passion bleeds through the words, cause in the end, it’s not my opinion about my essays that matter… -.-

Still waiting… 2070 sat 3.73 uw and 4.84. W… Not sure what to say
