Official Class of 2017 Decisions

Alright so I applied way back in November and they requested midterm grades in early January. I got my acceptance letter this month to Dietrich… My SAT is 1300/1870 and my GPA is 3.3. I only sent my essay and no letter of recommendations. My question is how different is Seattle compared to Pittsburgh? I think I am the only person to go Pitt in my high school so thanks if any is willing to share some information.

I think Pittsburgh is one of the few cities that has even less sunny days than Seattle, lol. Also about the same amount of rainfall, though it comes in heavier and less frequent in Pittsburgh rather than constant light drizzle. Winter will be colder with more frequent snow. Summers are hotter in Pittsburgh but delightful.
Both cities are wonderful - a collection of distinct neighborhoods, lots of culture, parks, and hills. Oakland will feel a bit more urban than the area around UW. Scenery is more spectacular in Washington State of course. Since everything is older in Pittsburgh, it may seem more gritty. However, I happen to like this aspect of the city. The East End of the city where Pitt is located is the most affluent side - Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, boutique store business districts, etc are not far away. It’s very nice.

Finally got the acceptance packet! Yay

@southeastmom That’s nice to hear. Thanks!
