So sad. Son’s first choice by far; accepted EA. No merit awarded. Very little FA. We’re willing to take on loans and pay them off for him over time. 2 kids in college; lost everything in the real estate crash. The problem is, now we have high salaries but we are rebuilding everything. Any ideas would be so greatly appreciated.

Osserpusser - This is a place where students can post their ‘stats’ regarding their admissions decisions. Your post would fit better in the “Parents” forum or in the general Michigan forum. This thread is definitely not the place for it.

Reapplying can only be done after one is deferred from EA to another school (such as college of engineering). And from then (january-ish) you can message your admissions counsiler and request to be transfered into LSA. That’s how I got in. I plan to transfer to Engineering after my freshman year.

@sssb777 Wow, something seems fishy to me. Your son seems to have stellar qualifications. Could it be he is so high that they thought he might go Ivy instead? The only other clue is his ECs. The kids we met at admitted students events were off the charts in ECs. Did you only list a couple? If there is a way to appeal, I sure would. Good luck!
