** Official Class of 2017 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread **

class of 319 students here! 2 applied EA UMich

Class of about 1,500 students. Approx 200 or 300 applied I think?

Any dual enrollment people here? I wonder how they view DE as compared to IB and AP.

rookies… 175 in grad class… 34 applied EA… OUT-OF-STATE… That’s ****ing ridiculous

does umichigan only accept and defer for early action applicants, or do they also reject people?

@Theinstigator Here, here! Also AP, but my school only offers like 4, of which 3 we can take, so yea. They kinda HAVE to offer dual enrollment.

@TheInstigator I did both IB and DE

Though for DE, I only did courses in the Summer! Double dip yo.

@anakaola, they reject too :frowning: But I think it’s only if you’re very under-qualified.

So I’ve been on this for about 5-6 hours now…
Homework completed: None, nada, zilch, zero, sifr…
I think the thing I’m most looking forward to if I get accepted is the fact that I get to fully embrace senioritis. Anybody else?

I’m oos and I don’t think anyone actually knows anything about umich besides “it’s so cold there!”

Yup, I’m the only one applying in my class of nearly 300.

If I get accepted its full on senioritis from here on out!

Pretty nervous, considering I just got rejected by Duke for ED. Anyways, there are my credentials. What do you think my chances are?

Indian male

3.55 GPA at rigorous (top 25) PRIVATE school in MA
2200 SAT (740 Math, 740 Reading, 720 Writing, 9 Essay)

4 years of Ski Team and Baseball
4 years of Debate Team (currently a team captain)
4 years of writing for the school newspaper, Sports Editor for 2 years
Head Tour Guide for my school’s admissions department

Um… the GPA is a little dangerous (though the school status might help), but the SAT is obviously good. You obviously put a lot of care into your ECs, that’ll help. I’d say you have a fairly reasonable shot, depending on which SCHOOL you’re entering.

Graduating class of 360, at least 75 applied. In state though, so you out of state kids are always taking our spots!! A kid from my school with a 3.9 gpa and 30 on his ACT got deferred last year.

My grade has 48 and I’m the only one who applied! But we are an insanely competitive private school

Got rejected from Upenn Wharton ED!

Are most people applying to Ross EA?

I’m an international who did the IB diploma

Do you guys think that the decisions be released on Saturday and Sunday also or will some just be released on Friday and then the rest next week? Good luck everyone.

Oh, probably it will just BEGIN Friday, and trickle on into the weekend.

Oh ok yea that makes sense, thanks!

I agree my GPA is a little lower than I would like, but in general, I have found that at my school the top 1/3 will consistently go to a top university (i.e. top 30 US News Universities, Top 10 Liberal Arts). We don’t do rankings, but I’d say I’m safely in the top 20% of my class. Plus, my GPA kinda got brought down by a B- in music theory Sophomore fall (took max course load), otherwise I’m sure I’d be at close to a 3.6 even.
