Official Cornell Class of 2018 Waitlist Thread

Got my AEM GT yesterday! Definitely taking the offer.

Does this mean I got a GT or…? “If you wish to receive information about transferring to CALS, please complete and submit the online reply form. Please note that submitting this form does not bind you to transferring to Cornell; it simply demonstrates your interest in transferring and in receiving transfer information from our office throughout the upcoming academic year.”

^ Yup, I’m pretty sure it does! Congrats  That’s what I got when I received my GT back in March…hope we’ll all end up in Ithaca next fall!

Why don’t they outright say we got a GT?

The email has the subject “CALS Transfer Information” Did you guys get that?

Hi All, if you received a transfer option it would say it directly in the email as well as on the online reply form. I believe the email you received is just encouraging you to consider transferring to Cornell instead :frowning: The subject for the Transfer Option email was “CALS Transfer Option Details” not “CALS Transfer Information”.

This is the email from Cornell re: guaranteed transfer to EAM -

Earlier this spring, you asked us to keep your name on our waiting list in case we were able to make any more offers of admission for fall 2014. We now have a clear picture of the number of students who will be enrolling in the fall and, unfortunately, we will not have a place in the class to offer you.

However, we would like to work with you to transfer to CALS as a sophomore in fall 2015.

If you meet the Transfer Option requirements, you will be offered a place in the Applied Economics and Management major for fall 2015. For more details about the Transfer Option, please review the Transfer Option Summary.

If you wish to pursue this Transfer Option offer, please complete and submit the online reply form by July 7th. You will receive an email confirming your acceptance of this offer by the end of July. Please note that accepting this offer does not bind you to transferring to Cornell; it simply demonstrates your interest in transferring to CALS and in receiving transfer information from our office throughout the upcoming academic year.

The Selection Committee appreciated the talent and potential reflected in your application and is truly looking forward to you joining CALS in 2015. Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions.

Hey I got a letter from CAS today that is offering me a “transfer option” as long as i maintain a 3.5 gpa and don’t have a disciplinary record in my first year. It never explicitly says guaranteed, but the entire letter is saying “Hey you should apply next year wink wink nudge nudge”. Did anyone else in CAS get something similar?

COE’s still being quiet. I’m beginning to doubt I even responded to the waitlist offer.

Does Cornell allow you to send in additional letters of recommendation once you’re on the waitlist, on top of submitting your update on activities/honors, etc.?
