Post 2019!!! Good luck to everyone:)

@banana4 hey! I’m korean too!

@Connor2019 yeah I wouldn’t worry about those people. If essays mean anything for Cornell (which they do), people who aren’t as passionate about the school probably won’t have great essays, which will hurt them.

Anybody applied for Materials Sciences major ?

I’ve been rereading my application, and it doesn’t sound like i’m really as interested in Cornell. UGH.

@tblegend97 @khagedorn96 I am also ILR. I have seen the SUNY page before, I have spent countless hours looking at ILR stuff lol. The middle 50% of the ACT was 29-32 so I think you’ll be fine.

For the essays, do they actually care about writing style or content? Cuz i overused the word problem in one sentence, i was trying to tell them that I love problems, problems, problems

@manas1997: Chill dude. relax. i really doubt it would even be a factor, let alone a deciding factor :)

@SweetIceTea awesome thanks!! And sorry for never getting around to reply to your original message, I actually just saw it.

Guys!!! 80 hours to go!!! haha :))

@TodaysEinstein I don’t know what school you applied to, but as long as you answered the supplement question thoroughly, I’m sure you’ll be fine. Plus nothing we can do about it now :-SS

can someone tell me what the difference is between EA and ED

@banana4 basically, ED is binding (what we all did for Cornell) and EA is not.

@Connor2019 also your hogwarts should require students to come to class in robes and have a sorting hat :P

Wow I also just found out the acceptance rate for international students is like 8%. Is that true?

Lurked in this thread SO hard over the past couple of days and I decided to make an account. Intending on an Econ major in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Anyone know the breakdown of ACT by college last year? I know the middle 50% is 30-34, but I would like a link showing the ACT ranges for each college. Not sure if my 33 is 75th percentile or not for CAS. Good luck to everyone on decision date!

@BigRedFanatic I know there are separate stats for the contract schools but I haven’t seen one for CAS. However, Cornell’s common data set indicates that 33 is the 75th for the entire university. The mean score is 31 with the 25th percentile being 30 and the 50th percentile being 32.

@SweetIceTea The link shows that for the Class of 2018 the ACT score range and mean are higher than what the common data set says.

http://irp.dpb.cornell.edu/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Profile2014-Freshmen.pdf

@BigRedFanatic oh sorry, I realizes that I am looking at the common data set for the year before. For class of 2018, the 25% is 30, 50% is 32, and 75% is 34. The mean is 32.

@BigRedFanatic I believe there is no breakdown by school unless it is a contract school (on SUNY website)
