Official Cornell Class of 2019 Early Decision

@connor2019 you’re right I’m sorry. I always go off of the class profiles for the previous year. Last year was the first year the 75th for admitted students was a 34. Whoops I guess my 33 is 75th anymore. But then again, for ILR, it probably is 75th

93 hours… This is killing me

Plot twist: all of us on CC are accepted and become best friends

@khagedorn96 yeah ugh. I only looked it up checking myself before posting. But I thought it was 33 as well.

do any of you think my 3 siblings’ legacy will help me get in? I know that legacy doesn’t assure any spot but any encouraging comment will help

I believe Cornell only considers parent/grandparent legacy…

I’m going to make a list of the things I dislike about Cornell. And if I get rejected, I’ll read it over and over till I feel better… But so far, all I’ve got is “it’s cold”.

I’m applying to School of Hotel Administration for ED and my siblings told me that “legacy is strong” in the hotel school and they said legacy also accounts for siblings??

Not sure if this is true… but i’m just looking for any hope still left for me sigh :(

hope we all get in!

@banana4 I think it could help!

I wish @cornell19

Last night I had two dreams: The first dream was about getting rejected, and the second dream was about getting accepted.

What can this possibly mean?

@banana4 I’ve heard from Cornell Alumni and my guidance counselor that Cornell loves siblings so it should help

@SteelAndConcrete consulting stars Your dreams can only mean one thing. That you might be accepted. But also maybe not. Ahhh!!!

i think we should start now…if one get accepted, congrats…but i can already tell if i get rejected im going to feel terrible. intellectually, i know a rejection is by no means a reflection on my self worth, but emotionally i would definitely feel that way…so here i go…im starting a list, please feel free to look over and add to it if you feel sad about a rejection, i know i will if i do

it’s COLD! you have to walk to class even in winter storms…high school snow days are for three inches of snow, cornell snow days are only for three ft of snow! to get to college town for food from freshman dorms its a 25-30 min walk…you could be a california or florida where you can just go the beach after classes and surf if you went to college there.

prelims (which are midterms and finals)

Its cornell, easily one of the hardest universities to graduate from. my friend is a cornell alumni and he said its at the same level as UChicago “the place where fun goes to die” -his words exactly…all classes are hard, gym is hard…lunch is hard…breathing is hard

The sun barely shines in Ithaca…Its always cold, grey, snowing, raining, and windy.

the Greek life is highly prevalent. the entire area has a greek influence (thats either good or bad depending on how you see it)- look at the neighboring towns on a map, they are all Greek named. I know i definitely dont like too much greek life as its expensive to keep up with dues and its a huge time commitment. I would be going to a school with some of the hardest academics in the country, i cannot comprehend how anyone have time for a frat

Its EXPENSIVE! it costs 63k a year. last year only 56% of people even applied for financial aid. That means 44% of ppl have a quarter million dollars just laying around (haha that one kid with a Ferrari) …One would be going to school with a bunch of rich kids. Of the people who applied for aid about 92% were granted aid source- college board

one can only bring in 12 AP credits. those credits cant even be applied toward the 120 or something you need for graduation. You wont be saving any money by applying ap credits

Its in the middle of no where. The “mall” nearby is has four store…the most popular of which is a newly built target…when ppl heard a target was being made there were actually kinda excited - said by my friend who went there when it was build a few yrs back

the average freshman gpa is a 3.0…it only gets harder from there. to graduate from the college of human ecology you need a 2.0 gpa as said on there website to the best of my memory

i feel slightly better if i got rejected now…

i heard having a sibling is almost a guarantee as said by a cornell student cc blogger. you most likely got it i woudl say…and yay, hi prospective hotelie! where are you from?

The amount of ap credits depends on the specific school of Cornell. CALS allows more

@Kigzcorp‌ I think if your friend was asked for documents it means he is probably in. Because international students have to submit documents only on request. Only CSS profile is required nothing else. So if documents are asked its a good sign as last year who applied for aid were even asked for documents. @jamesjunkers‌

@SteelAndConcrete maybe it means you got deferred and then accepted??? I have had a couple of dreams come true, like seriously, its like I predicted the future, hope we get in NOW though.

@hotelieatheart‌ hey! i was born and raised in nj but i moved to korea two years ago to an international high school. hbu?

Hmm, I’m surprised they haven’t emailed us anything yet. Maybe tomorrow will be the day.
