Official Cornell Class of 2019 Early Decision

wait @hotelieatheart where did you find that sibling thing? I have a brother at cornell who is a current junior, so I am hoping that helps.

anyone else applying ED to the hotel school?

Is anybody else doing ROTC?

@hotelieatheart I will add some

• They don’t have an amazing football team that everyone comes together to support. Schools with a culture like that would be a lot of fun and a great experience.
• I would have to spend a ton of money on warm clothes.
• I like sleep, and from my understanding the students don’t get a lot of that.
• In my opinion, “Cornellian” is not a pleasant sounding word in terms of phonaesthetics.

Other posters add more!!!

Does anybody know people who are applying ED who are under-qualified by a lot. It sounds wrong but these people who are applying makes me feel better…

I haven’t even started on my regular decision applications. I’m remaining faithful to my ED! or just being lazy :)

In the end guys, your scores are important yes, but it is about the overall fit. You can be the most qualified student, but if they don’t see the fit then you won’t be accepted. Don’t just think that since you have good scores you’re set. I know it’s just things people do to make themselves less nervous, but in the end you will end up in the right place for you. You may not realize it if you get rejected, but you getting rejected may end up being the best thing for you. Best of luck to all!

I wish we could go to Divination class and ask Professor Trelawney to use one of her tea dregs to check the status of our applications…

@santaman1 lol my SAT score is in the 1900’s hopefully that makes you feel better :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey! If you’re looking to waste time until Thursday, the “Overheard at Cornell” Facebook page is hilarious. It’s full of people livin’ that college life.

Edit: Link doesn’t work, just FB search “Overheard at Cornell”

sats are low as well, n that thing about siblings is in some cc thread. really dont feel like pulling it up b/c hard to fnid but i promise it exists, i read it like 5 times…soooo many cc threads i read

@banana4 same except it’s out of laziness lol

I had a stupid typo on my common app if that makes any of you feel better. Also, they’ll see my crappy 30 ACT bc I had to send all of them in.

“You should come up with a list of schools to apply to incase Cornell doesn’t work out.” -my mother to me

searches for Hogwarts on the Common App

@airspirit loo, i sent in my 29, they’ll only look at the highest scores, atleast thats what they say, I got a 25 on science the first time i took it, when i retook it I got a 36, so i hope they dont look at the lower scores.

If I am ever extremely rich, I’m starting a college and calling it hogwarts, just to see how many apps I get

@jamesjunkers I would ED.

@santaman1‌ I don’t know anyone that is so under-qualified that he or she doesn’t have a shot

@Connor2019 I get what you’re saying about football but basically that’s all channelled back into hockey so its cancelled out.

  1. I live in CT. It’s cold here. It’s like florida compared to Ithaca.
  2. The winter is long and dark.
  3. It’s ultra liberal and ultra politically correct which will be difficult for most Southerns (and I know because I was one until four years ago).
  4. Ithaca is nice but it doesn’t have the offerings of a really good small to medium sized college town.
  5. Freshman dorms are a pretty sizable walk from main campus.
  6. It’s hard and it’s known for being the grade deflation Ivy.
    But really all these points have counterpoints, which in my opinion are stronger than the points themselves lol

@khagedorn96 yeah if I read that out of context I may not have known those points were necessarily supposed to be negative haha
