Official Cornell Class of 2019 Regular Decision Applicants!!!!!

@justinn76‌ try more like Montana or something

Or like Idaho

Do Cornell only look at the top 3 scores or all? I had a 690 in chemistry then switched to testing in physics. In total I tested in 4 subjects and chem was my worst (didn’t retest). I’m also Asian so ehhh

Any one else apply to RD food science?

@fairyfantasy Well Cornell looks at what scores you officially send. So if you didn’t send it, then they won’t see it.

@stahboy: I believe @fairyfantasy is saying that she sent it, and is asking whether it will be considered. Also, not sending an SAT II score would violate Cornell’s no-score choice policy.

Now, in my response to @fairyfantasy: First of all a 690 is not a bad score. There’s really nothing wrong with it (unless, I guess, if it was in like Math II). I believe Cornell will look at the score since you sent it, however, I really do not think it would hurt you. Plus, if you have 3 other tests that are higher than that (which implies that you have 3 tests in the 700s), you will be perfectly fine. Schools are looking for a reason to accept you, not to reject you.

@jamesjunkers Yes I would think that would make more sense.

@fairyfantasy‌ One score on the SATII won’t make or break your overall application. What is your intended major?

Has anyone else had a “meeting” with a Cornell embassador? I have one on Monday but I thought Cornell didn’t offer interviews so I’m confused as to what this is. Has anyone else gotten one??

@jamesjunkers‌ @stahboy‌

I was tempted to not send the scores but my ethics won -.-
I’m looking to go in to Computer Science major as a female Asian (so URP + ORP all at once lol), and I had 800 Math II, 740 Physics, 730 Literature. (Physics and Literature had re-tests, first time were 710s), along with 690 Chem ofc.

You’re literally fine. I’m not saying you’re getting in, that’s a crapshoot, but the 690 is not hurting you

@fairyfantasy Your scores won’t be the ones that get you rejected. As long as the rest of your application shines, you will be fine!

@jamesjunkers‌ @stahboy‌ Thanks! You guys made me feel better. I guess I still have a chance. I thought about retesting in 2 weeks but am too lazy and busy for that lol.

@ineversleep I didn’t get one, but some of my friends got interviews.

Is there any difference on getting offered an informational session versus an interview? The alumnus who contacted me said it wasn’t an interview and not officially part of the admissions process. I know it’s over thinking it but I was just curious whether there was some factor deciding what you got.

Oh wait, I figured it out. They only do info sessions. Sorry, disregard that last comment!

Um…I sent in my Cornell Application on Jan 2 a few hours before the deadline…I still haven’t received any acknowledgement from Cornell. I emailed the admissions asking them about my application, but they simply replied saying that applicants will receive an email within 7-10 days after sending in the applications. But it’s been longer than 10 days and I still haven’t received my applicantID or any sort of acknowledgement. Is it possible that my application did not reach Cornell before the deadline or does it usually take longer than 10 days?? Help please.

Call admissions, they literally are awful at responding to emails, but very good via calls

Alright thanks  But is such a delay normal…that’s what I want to know.

I just had my “interview”… for a school that doesn’t offer interviews, it was very much like an interview. I don’t get it: do they offer interviews to a select few? how do they pick those students? also if not everyone receives an interview, how much does it weigh when they are reviewing your application?

I haven’t had any reply from Cornell either - don’t they need three weeks to process applications? That’s what I thought was the general rule for colleges…
