Likely letters went out on 3/14 last year, so probs early next week ^
@airspirit On Ivy day for ILR will there be any more acceptances or will there only be rejections, waitlists, and guaranteed transfers?? Thanks for the help.
@yoshi105 Don’t worry, there will be more acceptances. I check past threads and there were some admitted on Ivy Day. Plus, I’m sure Cornell’s admission committee is still going through apps right now.
Thank you @airspirit
Is it a dumb assumption to think that if I - as a URM - do not receive a likely this upcoming week that I have not been accepted? Or are the likelies not sent to all URM applicants?
Did any international students receive acceptance from SHA or ILR?
Congrats to all that received their letters.
@IvyClimber117 Likely letters are definitely not sent to all URM applicants. Likely letters in general are extremeIy rare. I don’t think you should expect one, but it sure would be nice :-*
@Williamjiasheng I applied ED but got deferred, still waiting now. I don’t think applicants from Asia are gonna get the letter ahead of time because of the distance, or maybe I just didn’t get in. I’m from China FYI. Congrats to those who have been admitted!
I currently attend high school in U.S, therefore It’s probably not the distance issue for me. I hope it’s because Cornell only release International students offer on Ivy day, or otherwise I am probably rejected. Good Luck to you, SHA has always been my dream school @cdrunaway
And now we wait with everyone else. As I understand this batch of acceptances to SHA have been sent out.
@Williamjiasheng sorry but I’m an international student living in the us and I was admitted to sha by mail last week, so I don’t think so… But good luck!! I hope you get in on the ivy day
Did anyone from California receive anything?
Cornell says the 31st via calendar… https://caaan.admissions.cornell.edu/CAAANCalendar.pdf
** Note the calendar for Cornell ED was accurate, indicating decisions would come out 12/11**
So I’d say ivy day is def. the 31st
Sorry for being so uninformed guys, but what is the difference between likely letters and the acceptances people are getting for ILR and SHA? Are they the same thing? I applied to the Engineering school, will there be any likely letters for us?
@GoCornell2015 I’m from NorCal, and I haven’t received anything yet. Waiting until the 31st.
@nandroida People are getting actual acceptance letters for ILR and SHA. These schools have given out acceptance letters earlier than the others, like, for ex., CAS. Likely letters are letters that hint at an acceptance. They say it doesn’t guarantee acceptance, but as long as you maintain your grades and attendance, you’ll be fine.
Did people from the west coast receive any letter regarding SHA?
@GoCornell Yes they did on last Saturday.
@111wilsonpark Are you sure? Based on this forum, no one from the west coast has received anything from SHA yet. Do you know anyone who has?
Go the hotel school thread - last Saturday is accurate to that thread.
