Official Cornell Class of 2019 Regular Decision Applicants!!!!!

So @semperfi, CAS reviewed your application without your SATII scores, but it is essentially an incomplete application.

@jamesjunkers‌

Dyson sucks. Don’t you know that? I mean, it’s advertised on TV!

@hungryteenager, of course it sucks!! I wouldn’t spend my whole life dreaming for something that’s good :stuck_out_tongue:

I got accepted into 6 schools, waitlisted by 1, and rejected by 4. I am still pretty bummed since those 4 were my reach schools and I thought I might get into at least one of them, whereas 4 of the 6 i got into were all safeties. Nevertheless, I got accepted into my top choice UCBerkeley so I’m very content whether I get in Cornell or not :slight_smile:

Cornell is the last school I hear from and if I get in I’d go. Got accepted to the first 5 schools I heard from but they were all match or safety schools. Since then I’ve been waitlisted by 3 reaches in a row (Berkeley, Colgate, Boston College). My parents keep saying “you haven’t been rejected yet” but I don’t know if I’ll be 100% content with my options if I don’t get into Cornell…

I don’t expect to get in anymore but it’ll still suck after I don’t… Dx

I hate the college admission process.

I’d like to know the answer to @pianogeek’s question too. And did most people apply with the primary/alternate option? Can you be accepted by both?

@graceunderfire‌ I applied CAS as primary, and ILR as the alternate. I really think my interests could be pursued in both schools. However, parts of my essay for CAS are used in ILR’s…is this okay?

I did engineering as primary, then CAS as alternative (in retrospect, perhaps not a really good idea, since it seems to be the common first choice). I wrote two entirely different essays just in case, but I don’t know if each school has its own distinct admission committee. If they do, then I’d imagine it would be okay!

@pianogeek‌ you could get into major trouble if your past self decides to sue your future self for plagiarism.

Ok, I had to reply to this. I know you are kidding about being willing to sacrifice a year of your life to go to Cornell but, kids, keep things in perspective! I wound up going to my second choice school and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. I found my passion which led to a successful career and met my best friend there who is one of the most important people in my life. My parents were completely focused on the Ivy League because they were immigrants and that’s what they knew, but there are actually so many excellent schools out there. I have friends who went to Ivy league schools who are unemployed and others who went to city colleges who are CEOs and VPs. Good luck to all of you. In less than a week you will know, and I hope you embrace your choices. You are lucky to have them!

@indorilnerevar‌
His future self can be incarcerated for that. He may want to look into online college programs in case he goes to jail.
I hear University of Phoenix is the Ivy League of the online schools. =))

Did anyone else apply for Information Science? I seem to be the only one (which may be a good thing!)

@Kungpaoasian‌ @indorilnerevar‌ oh shucks…well does my future self stand a chance if I’m actually a she and not a he? Possibz?

Any history/poli sci people here?

Guys! Less than 24 hours left!! Commence the count down-- good luck everyone!
