Official Cornell Class of 2019 Regular Decision Applicants!!!!!

No, they will not. At all. Whatsoever.

i’m pretty sure they will just overlook it.
anyone applying for SEAS here

Just applied to COE as an international!!
So nervous!! Now i wish i had applied ED so i’d at least be able to get rid of the anxiety!!

Quick question… Do you guys think Cornell uses the WES GPA calculator… I think the only thing that could really trash my application is my school scores… I got a 90% in my school exams…(the finals aren’t done yet)
On the WES calculator I seem to get a 4.0 … And i have heard of other colleges converting GPAs for international students… I hope Cornell does this too!!

Penn deferral here. Pretty psyched out by the number of other SEAS applicants…

@coolboy1997 how did you get rejected penn ED when you got a likely letter? Sorry, I did some snooping hehe

@Coolboy1997‌ yah whats up with that yo thats like the biggest tease of a life time getting a likely letter and then getting rejected lol

So I just recently realized Cornell is not a score choice school… I sent in one ACT but not the other since they are both the same score and I didn’t find it necessary. Should I send it in? Same goes for an SAT II test, but the score for that one was significantly different. Honestly, I don’t want to have to pay the extra money to send in the scores. How necessary is it?

@mbd2297, in reality, I seriously doubt they’ll know. However, if they do find out, it is definetely a reason to reject you, for not following policy. Ultimately, it’s up to you

Ever since Princeton deferred me, I’ve been savaged up like a mad man. Scripted all my RD essays on some Hemingway ish 8-X 8-X

Not true. You must send all ACT scores. When I called admissions a few months ago, that’s what they told me.

When did you call @coolboy1997? Because admissions is closed right now…

Send either all SAT 1s or all ACTs. It’s fine to send ACTs + SAT 2s without SAT 1.

I got deferred engineering ED. Had a decent 2270 (which rounds to 2300, eh, eh?), 800 and 740 SAT2, and an essay on my choir experience and another on playing chess… My essays were poor, and the admissions process is partially luck; Had I written a stronger essay describing my engineering ambitions, I might’ve had a better chance of admissions.

Still, I cannot help but feel they deduced my Asian ethnicity through my last name… Putting other on the application was supposed to be my salvation, not a crux! Oh affirmative action, why must we be so diverse!

@mbd2297‌ @Coolboy1997‌ I sent an email to the admission offices regarding the ACT dilemma. They particularly stated “We do, however, superscore. We ask that you please send all scores.”

@eding97‌ Dude, that’s like the exact same problem I have! I can’t even leave it blank because my last name is a give-away, so it’ll look suspicious…

How did you guys write your Engineering supp? I am not sure if I should just write about exposure to and why I am interested in Engineering…or if I have to have a specific engineering idea.

now i am scared. my highest score is 2220 for SAT in my first attempt. I took the test 2 more times after that in hopes of increasing my score but my score actually decreased both times. Will this affect my application negatively?
Also, I am an international student applying for ECE. Does being a girl help?

@pinkydinkydoo‌ Yeah, being a girl for engineering would help! International would hurt. And yeah a score decrease like that would hurt buuuut it also depends by how much it decreased. (Ex. 2220 --> 2200 does not matter as much as 2220 --> 2000)

@awesomekid it decreased to 2170 and then to 2140. sigh. I hope my SAT subject tests would help though. (800 for Chem, Physics and 780 for math<<didnt study)
WHY IS THE US ADMISSION PROCESS SO COMPLICATED?!?!

Hi everyone! I’m applying to CAS to major in French. My alternate is CALS for nutritional studies.
I’m in love with my essays for this school!
