cornell aap!!
@predent. I guess the honest answer is that they simply want the other person more. Really no other way to say that, but I assume the difference between the last person accepted and the most desirable person on the wait-list is pretty infinitesimal. When folks come off the wait-list, it often has to do with who said no to the school. If an oboe player from Texas said no thanks, and you happen to be an oboe player from Texas, then you’re golden. If not, then you wait till the next person says no thanks. It’s maddening. Frankly, my DS was waitlisted at several great schools, and that year no one came off the waitlist (zero, zip, zilch). Like I said, it’s a long shot. Trick is to get happy about your #2, and if the waitlist pans out, it will be a pleasant surprise.
Thanks so much @tlbphd, I really appreciate the advice and honesty!
@Janizary I’m sorry to let you down but the hotel school is one of a kind and is so specific that it has one of the highest yields, meaning once people get in, they’re gonna go. Therefore, it is extremely rare to get off the wait list for the hotel school.
&frazzled503 right there with you. also annoyed when I see some of the scores getting in nowhere near mine. I spent all day working on signing up for my final choice which offered honors and a free ride at a top school in a great place so know I am going to be happy. However I honestly think I could teach a seminar on what and what not to do when applying to college starting with being realistic about college preferences
@Babybunny96 I’m aware that the Hotel School has the highest yields, but I have seen on past threads a few years back that all waitlistees not pulled from the waitlist are offered guaranteed transfer. I am wondering if this could be the case this year.
Any AEM admits here? Curious…
Any of you in IB? If so, how much can your final IB mark drop by from your predicted? I realize that the acceptance is conditional
I was just wondering if any of the accepted students here have received their financial aid decisions. Are they sent by e-mail or by post?
P.S.- I’m an international student.
P.P.S- Are there any Tanner Dean Scholars here?
Parent of a US student here, received the financial aid info yesterday online. My daughter got an email in the early afternoon telling her it was available.
What would be the yield for CAS? Any hope for the waitlist?
I’m a US student who hasn’t received any financial aid info, should I be worried? Are there any places I can check to see if it’s available?
I’m in the US and I received my financial aid information online yesterday. The sent me an email letting me know that it was ready for me to review online.
Perhaps you can call them. They were super friendly when I called them to get a clarification about something I saw in my FA award.
Cornell’s financial aid was best offer that I received. I will definitely be attending . So excited!
Thanks for the advice @HappyCamper2015, I just emailed them. Hoping for a speedy replay, as financial aid is something my parents are very worried about
@Shufflebean, you are most welcome! @tdd2015, I agree, Cornell’s offer was extremely generous!
Good luck to everyone with their decisions!
@Gatortristan They are discussing the makeup of the accepted pool

anyone got Hunter R. Rawlings III Cornell Presidential Research Scholar email today? Would like to know more information about this program.
Has anyone received their official acceptance package in the mail yet?
