I applied to CAS for physics, the suspense is killing me. Also hear from dartmouth brown princeton and yale on the 27…

Mistanervous- Don’t give up yet. My son received a likely letter from Cornell and was rejected from his “safety school” Northeastern- go figure

@BCAMom2014

Thank you for the kind words. I’m not extremely worried but I am a bit surprised. It just made me anxious :(

rejected from ucla :-/

Guys I’m freaking out. RD’ed to ILR with a second choice (A&S). Got into WashU (Olin), Claremont McKenna, UNC Chapel Hill (EA-OOS) and UCLA, amongst other safeties. Be that as it may, I’m from India so the applicant pool is uber competitive.

Guys, you seriously don’t need to post where you get rejected from (or every single college you applied to). This is a thread created to answer questions, help people, and alleviate stress, not to feed the angst that is college application. If it really feels therapeutic to announce it to the world, then sure whatever, but you could just be making it worse for other overly-stressed out people.

I think you all are forgetting this is the internet…now go look at crazy cat videos or something.

it’s ok my friend got likely Cornell but rejected UCLA

It’s normal to compare acceptances/rejections, and wonder how it relates to the Cornell decision you are waiting for. I know it is a stressful time, and it is great that so many are here to support you. You should feel free to comment, question, etc. Wishing all of you the best.

I applied to CAS and got a letter saying that the committee was impressed with my application and that I have been nominated as a Tanner Dean’s Scholar (around 40 from one class). Furthermore, it said that although they cant give an official decision before the 27th, they are very interested in my application. Is this a likely letter? I am an international applicant btw.

@mkali123 congats that is a likely letter!My son also applied CAS. I’m just crazy with nervousness. He only applied to 4 colleges. MIT-rejected umass amherst-accepted with scholarship we are waiting for Cornell and Harvard.

@Boester22
That’s the reason other people post other acceptances/rejections to alleviate people on this forum…My son got waitisted to WUSTL, yet he got likely letters to Cornell, UPenn and Rice!!! Go figure:)) Also accepted so far to UNC-CH, UVA and UF. April 27, D-Day we’ll know about the others: Yale, Princeton, Brown, Columbia and Duke!! Good luck to everyone

The admissions process is so weird! OMG.
I got waitlisted to HMC. :-/

@APushed96
By HMC, I am guessing Harvey-Mudd? Man I know how waitlisted feels. Its, in my opinion, worse than a rejection if the school is not one of your top choices.

Waitlisted at UVa…

But think about it, a lot of these schools, like UVa, HMC, WUSTL, etc. waitlist the top applicants because they are pretty sure they will not be going there, they are trying to save their yield. So maybe we’re just at the top of the applicant pool!

@satman1111: Haha, good way of thinking…I got waitlisted at UVa also :/

@iculater Haha I know the feeling, I applied to a small number of colleges as well. I hope your son gets into Harvard and Cornell.

@mkali123 if you don’t mind me asking when did you receive your likely letter? I know at this point they have probably sent them all but I keep stalking the mailbox in hopes of him receiving one. We haven’t heard a peep from Harvard…no interview…he didn’t even receive a pin id to check application status. Definitely thinking Harvard is going to be a big fat NO.

Anyone from India with a likely letter?

@iculater I received it on the 21st but it took a while to get here since I live in Pakistan. I think the letter was dated as 13th March. Keep hoping for the best as this entire process is a lottery. You can never know what might happen.

@mkali123 Fantastic! I wish you the best of luck at Cornell. It’s a wonderful school and an incredibly beautiful place. Maybe we will see you in the fall.
