@johnnyisgod you shouldn’t be so rude when you don’t even know the circumstances of myself or others. For me i NEED that 2300 because my GPA isn’t good and I can’t afford college without a VERY generous scholarship. This comment was obviously directed to me and sure others above. Next time please consider others’ situations.

Hey guys,
I just received an invoice from CB saying that my credit card was declined and thus the payment for my December SAT could not be processed. Since I received a scholarship at my high school, the payment for my test was done by the business office. Unfortunately, my high school’s business office was closed for winter break and will not work again until January.

CB asked me to pay immediately; otherwise my account will be “placed on hold”. Is it ok for me to pay at mid-January? Additionally, I got accepted to college with my October SAT; assuming that my account is deactivated by CB, will my October SAT and college admission be affected by that?

2200-2400 can make an impact. The most common rule of thumb is that 2250+ is good enough, but 2300+ truly means no difference. Also, like someone said earlier, there are merit scholarships solely based on your SAT and GPA. Many need a 2300+ to be able to afford college.

TBH, if we’ve worked hard towards a goal we set for ourselves, who are you to say a 2200 is good enough and that we should stop complaining? A 2200 is impressive, no doubt, but compared to the work some of us have put in, 2200 can be disappointing for some of us.

We’re not the best people to ask (perhaps you could contact CB), but I would think that if you have already sent your October scores, account deactivation shouldn’t matter. Again, we’re also teens, so it’d be best for you to check with someone else.

Hey everyone. For a bit of nostalgia and perhaps (perhaps) triumph, look back to the early pages of this thread.

@johnnyisgod is butthurt over other people’s higher scores…
Jealousy much? Work harder and you can come complain with us… you asinine fool.

@Woandering thank you so much. you wrote everything i didn’t know how to express.

@johnnyisgod preach!

Now that the SATI’s are over, who’s planning SATII’s lol I am.

Congrats everyone, I hope you are all happy with your scores. Now that we have our scores, we can actually enjoy our breaks and focus on the holidays. It was great being a part of this thread and i hope i get a chance to converse with you all again one day. Again, congratulations :-bd

@fireonice said on the first page he was hoping for a 2250+ but a 2300+ would be ideal. Congratulations on the 2330.

@Woandering I’m going for the ACT next (Hopefully I get at least a 30). I don’t see a point in me taking the SAT II considering I just want to go to a UC School like Davis and don’t even know what I want to major in.

@RHSclassof16
Good luck with the ACT! I was going to take that too if I got below 2300.

Are you a junior? Unless there is a financial situation, you might want to continue thinking about the SATII just in case you change your mind about only going to UCs. We teens are quite good at changing our minds, so it’s best to leave your options open. Again, however, if not taking will save some money, and you feel happy with just UCs, it would probably be better to not take the SATII.

What were you guys scoring on practice tests vs you Dec score?

@Woandering thanks I was really happy with my score! Congrats on the 2310. Now we can focus on other stuff.

I have a household income of about $300,000 a year. (My dad’s a lawyer, my moms owns several businesses)
Yes I don’t want to put a financial burden on my parents, but I figure any private really expensive school that is worth going to probably wouldn’t accept me anyways. (AKA Ivy League or other top tier schools) USC and NYU are the only private schools I would consider going to (That I think I have a chance and getting in). And I still don’t think I have a great shot at either. (3.97 overall weighted GPA) I did just get a 4.67 first semester junior year though.

And yes I am a Junior.

For anyone who’s thinking about ACT vs. SAT, just wanted to let you guys know that I got a 32(.25) on ACT in September but a 2330 on SAT in December. It goes to show that there can be quite a significant difference between tests from people to people. Personally, I found it hard to finish the ACT and concentrate on one section for an extended period of time. I liked SAT much better.

@dallascowboys1

LOL I’m so disappointed. I was getting 2380 on practices and got a 2310 in Dec.

@RHSclassof16
Honestly, just from what you’ve said so far, you have a pretty good chance at the ivies, although I’d need to see your entire profile to be sure (UW GPA, SAT, ECs, etc.). Still, it is your choice.

If you can get a 33 ACT/2250SAT, I’d say definitely go for the top schools. If you have impressive ECs, go for them anyway.

You have some time to think about this anyway, so just don’t be prejudiced against SATII or the top schools. You never know what may change.

Congrats on your scores
Hey guys, if I am considered a “URM” what SAT score is “good” for top liberal arts colleges and UCs?
Thank you
