The thing is, i haven’t seen anyone post anythign about being rejected after being deferred :/. So that really worries me.

Are we going to hear before April 15?

Great! I hope they don’t just waitlist everyone that was deferred now. So much for applying early to find out early.
I kind of feel like, IF I get in now it’ll be like “Ok, I guess we have room for you now…we’ve asked everyone else.”

That’s ok, no one asks when you got in just from where you graduated. I’ll take the acceptance any way I get it!

That’s true. I just really hope we don’t have to wait past April 15th. My nerves can’t take it much longer. Lol!!

My son sent an update to U of M today as he’s had several major achievements since he applied EA last Fall. Namely, 4 national/regional writing awards and his varsity hockey team won the national championship in Salt Lake City last weekend. We figured it was probably too late and the decision has already been made; however the Admissions rep said she sent the update to his file for consideration in their decision. So we might actually all have to wait until April 15th, but at least we know they haven’t made all their decisions yet, or so it would seem.

I spoke to an admission counselor today. He said that all applications have been reviewed at least twice. You will get your decision at the end of next week or the following week. From our conversation, I concluded that most acceptances have already gone out. U of M is waiting for students to decline their offers of admission before they can accept more students. So good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

But no-one has to decline their offers until May 1…
so it looks like waitlist/rejection at this point.
whatever.

if i get waitlisted…thats number 8

Omg, dawool!! I would be a mess!! That’s terrible. Have you been accepted to any schools that you would be ok going to if Michigan doesn’t work out?

@MidwestParentof4 You have given me more hope that I get in! I should have called a counselor a while ago.

@Dawool, that sucks big time. Good luck, I’m sure at least one of those will give you a seat.

My son is probably not going to attend Michigan, so there is one spot available!

Actually MidWest said

Not to be a downer, but at this point, anyone who has not heard, including my kid, can be considered waitlisted, if not rejected.

chocoholic, that was my impression as well. Not having an answer yet most likely means waitlisted or rejected. However, it sounds like there will be a few more acceptances as students decline their offers. For some, even a small chance might be enough to hang on. For my kid, I think she wants to move on and warm up to the schools where she’s been accepted.

@rebsar nope…1 acceptance, 7 probably 8 waitlists, 4 rejections
only accepted to my safety hahah

Dawool…that really stinks. Have faith though, hopefully you get good news soon!!

Aww, dawool! ;-; What is the school you got into?
I got accepted to my safeties, but they’re pretty good schools. So I’m pretty content.

Sparrowo3o, where did u get in?

UNC-Chapel Hill and Wake Forest :).
I’m probably going to UNC if I don’t get into UMichigan (unlikely).

Chocaholic and Midwest, that is simply not true, at least if historical info means anything. When they say mid April, they mean mid April. There will without question be additional acceptances to follow.
