*Official Deferred Class of 2016 Page*

Hello guys. I only found this thread today… I was deferred in December and didn’t hear a word from UMIch… but I didn’t send in the final-year report until a few days ago… well here goes

hate waiting

are there any internationals deferred here?

Yep! I got deferred back in Dec after applying for EA and still haven’t heard a word from them.

Same here.

Do you have a feeling we got waitlisted/ rejected then? There was already a wave of acceptances in March.

Deferred international applicant here…Asian Female is a setback I guess.
The chance may be slim since most IVYs’ admission rate are almost half it was in the previous years…but I still have my hope.
Actually I’m the one who’s trully freaked out. Due to the great stats I got, the only universities I applied to is Michigan(for myself) and Ivys(for my parents), but chances are that I may get rejected by all of them. Well maybe LACs just suit me better. I always believe that god is making the best choice for everyone. So be confident guys^_^

^heyyy i’m an international applicant too, also an asian female  deferred in feb and haven’t heard back since :frowning: got a few other acceptances, but umich! <3

International - Asian Male

Yeah I’m also an international Asian male. Received a deferral letter (type 3) in February; haven’t heard back from them since. Does this mean I’m in line for a rejection?

No it does not. There will be acceptances coming up in the next week or two. Be positive.

Hate that I can’t afford to pay OOS tuition. If U of M doesn’t accept me I’ll be stuck at MSU. Does anyone have confirmation that there will be another wave?

I have heard of people getting admitted on exactly Apr 15. Let’s just be patient.
Well for me it can be worse…if I eventually got mysefl in to a LAC my parents are likely to cut me off. Also I have an offer with scholarship for a school specialized in fashion design…but you know how much the Asian parents care about the stupid USNEWS rankings. I can’t remember the type of my deferral letter.
Don’t forget to post the good news in two weeks~

Wait, could we actually sort this out? Did we all get the same letter here? I don’t know what type of letter mine is, but this is what I received -

"After multiple individualized and comprehensive evaluations of your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2012, we believe that you have something uniquely valuable to contribute to our campus. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, your application has been deferred for a final decision until a later date.

Your application will be re-evaluated, and a final decision will be made based on how your credentials and academic achievements contribute to the composition and quality of this year’s freshman applicant pool. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than mid-April, 2012."

Hey went to check my status and it won’t let me log in is this happening to anyone else?

I think you have to log-in within the timings. Check the operation timings in the top right hand corner.

oh ok ty nvm

wow so many people are deferred. I’m pretty sure I won’t get in :frowning: do you think it’ll make a difference if I sent in my new trimester grades yesterday?

Well you aren’t losing anything by sending it? So you might as well

still waiting from Dec. deferral in metro DC area. If decisions are waitlist or denied, don’t know why the decision isn’t posted already. Every other school, unless they have a May deadline for application, is done with decisions.
