*Official Deferred Class of 2016 Page*

I feel like because they are a public school, they need to fill in as many spaces as possible. So they’re probably waiting for students to retrieve their apps until UMich can admit a couple more.

istalkyourhouse: good point!

Does anybody have a rough idea of the percentage of students deferred? cause I hear more people deferred than accepted or rejected…

so over this

I’ve been a fan of this thread for a while now. And unfortunately I’ve also spent hours reading the decisions thread of class 2015. (Which is BTW hilarious and heart-breaking at the same time. Has anyone read it ? It just gets worse as days in April go by…)

I’m a panicked student from France :frowning: I’m pretty sure I’ll be rejected with my low stats compared to CC peeps but a part of me just doesn’t want to let go of that hope and I hate it.

Anyone else feel like they’ve wasted so much energy on Michigan ? I’ve had two break-downs this week and I can’t study properly anymore -,-
I’ve fell in love with U of M ever since I visited their campus so I’m really really hoping to get in.

EDIT: I received letter 1 for RD, if that does anything -,-

@Saebyeog Hey dude, no need to worry so much… I also check this thread evey day, hoping to get some positive news. And in my opinion, what happened last year will not necessarily repeat itself this year. Moreover, judging from what I’ve heard, U of M doesn’t tend to admit students who have extremely high stats(actually most of them have already been/will be admitted to other top universities). So even if you have lower stats than CC peeps, you should still have faith. There’s no telling what the admission process of UM is like, all we can do now is keep our fingers crossed.
Umich is also my dream school, I think about it every second these days… I reeeeeeally need to get in…
Good luck to both of us!

I’ve started preparing for the other WLs. This is soooo disturbing, especially when we are going to have an important test next week. So I decided to leave it aside for a while.
BTW I got letter 3…probably because of the semmingly low GPA.

tigerhobbes:
In my school this year we have 3 kids applied to UMich as EA applicants and all of us are deferred…Though our stats and ECs are totally of three levels. So yes I guess deferral takes up the largest portion. Actually I haven’t heard of anyone got accepted through EA yet, or at least no one I know.

inukikyo:

Hmm … yeah I haven’t seen many people admitted either although I saw a lot of people I know who applied… I guess I should just try to forget about this for a while too

I know of 5 ea deferred kid who were accepted in march and 4 are from my school. So I’m not so confident right now that I am getting in

@icue126 Thanks for the encouragement, though I think I really DO need to worry lol. I’m talking about extremely average (poor for U of M) stats, like a 1650 SAT score. Yeah I know, I was a little crazy to apply. I just don’t do well on standardized testing.
I’m also a late-bloomer, so that adds to my shaky app.

Is anyone checking the U of M Admissions on facebook ?
I should really stop stalking them everywhere haha

Link me to the U of M admissions on facebook please

Your guys’ panicking makes me panic.

@AntEater haha, that happened to me too. Especially seeing all those high stats and lengthy achievements.
I think we all need to chill and be prepared for good or bad. Easier said than done -,-

Guys, do you think it is too late to send an email of interest now?

@istalkyourhouse it might be, but send one anyway. What do you have to lose?

I think the last wave will come on at the end of next week…

True that, argh but what does one say in an email of interest?! UMich is my first choice right now and I just want them to know that.

@writtenonthebody do you know if there will be any decisions this weekend?

quirky, there will never be decisions over a weekend because people in admissions offices are not working on the weekends to send them out.

@nomadba i think @quirky294 meant like this Friday ; )
