Official EA Essay Swap

Alright guys, there seemed to be a lot of support for an essay swap... so here its.

Just post your email address and others can decide whether or not they want to send their essays to you.

Just as a word of warning, u should probably only send ur essays to people that you CAN trust... if that's possible online. Don't send it to random people that have like 1 or 2 posts... and all of a sudden wants ur essays...

We can also post comments here, so we can discuss each others essays as well.

I'll throw out the first comment... Chidimma's and athlon's are beyond amazing. ritz is unique and interesting.

haosquared's essays is well-written. It's a unique topic as well.

hit me up with an emil via my profile, or you can send me a private message, to make use of the coolness of some of these new features.

By the way, I sent in my application Saturday night. I only have 4 posts because I recently joned the new forum after being fairly active on the old one. I took time off for marching season and summer volunteering.

wow... iplayoboe, that's a damn good activity essay. I must say. Now, I feel wary, because mine wasn't about an EC...

Such good use of imagery, I actually felt like I was there. I'll send u my common app one.

Sent! Btw... if I don't reply for the next two hours, it's because I have practice.

I don't mind reading essays. Just PM me though, because my email inbox gets a ton of letters every day.

I'll send out my main essay, but please don't post excerpts, etc.

newt, u've won the prize for the best essay on CC in my opinion. Your last paragraph is really well-written. But it kinda borders on cliche sometimes.

Alright, while I was gone I got a few... So I'll just comment on it in this post:

StormMage: I like the struggle against adversity. It really highlight something that is unique about you. It's written well, and it's good because u actually have a story to tell.

bebere87: I'm kinda confused as to what activity u chose for your supplementary essay. It's interesting, tho. Your second one was hilarious. What an amazing idea...

I just got home from school and science olympiad, and now I have to do my other essay. I would love to read your guys's after I am all done, but would you guys be willing to critique my activity essay when I finish tonight? Thanks!

Thanks David! :D

I already sent replies to everyone who sent their essays, but I think yall did great with your essays!

Actually, in my first post... I've confused newt and athlonmj.

 Newt, yours is still really good in my opinion!

Athlon, I don't know if the one I read is the one to which davidrune is referring, but its awesome

Newt, yours is STILL good!

And as for the topic of my activity essay, umm....

I'm kind of stretching the definition of an activity, which defines as "A specified pursuit in which a person partakes." I guess the actual activity upon which I'm focusing is the volunteerism/travel....

davidrune, i want to read yours!

Newt, just curious when you write... do u listen to music? do you handwrite or type it out?

Hey everyone, I have to say it's been a real pleasure reading over all of your essays. I haven't read one yet that has been trite and full of cliches. CC people never cease to amaze me. It's actually really fun to get to know you guys through your personal statements.

Thanks for all the comments you've made about mine too! I really appreciate them.

Oh, and davidrune, I usually sit and stare at a blank screen when I write. I seriously have a one track mind when it comes to working; I cannot listen to music and think at the same time (ok, well maybe that's a stretch, but I definately can't write well). I actually wrote my personal statement on the porch of a relative's beach house in New Jersey looking out at the setting sun. Maybe that was part of my inspiration. I know a lot of it came from writing exactly how I felt inside and not trying to write about what the admissions office wanted to hear.

David_Rune, newt, Anthlon, I'd really like to read each of your essays since everyone is saying they are so well-written.

i'd love to read anyone's essay...if anyone wants to read mine...

I'd love to read someone's essay, esp. Newt's. I don't really want to share mine until I see what other people's are like, though...

I'd love to read more essays. I sent mine out to a few people but only got one response from bebe, probably because I sent them as attachments. Or because no one cares... virtual sniffle
