<p>Counting down to December 10th, we have about 12 days left of this torture.
Out of curiosity, where is everyone else applying/looking at?</p>

<p>lol, december 10th is the date i’m counting down to as well. i mean, looking at past years, columbia always seems to release decisions a little bit earlier than december 15th. i think the class of 2012 recieved their decisions december 7th, and the class of 2013 was december 10th.
apparently in early december we recieve an email telling us the exact date. once we get this date, we can have an OFFICIAL countdown. lol.</p>
<p>oh man, has anyone else looked at their application, and thought “***, why’d I put that…” or any variation of the sort. i think i have post-applicaton stress. </p>
<p>ohh, and does anyone think being afghan will help my chances, lol? i feel like i’m a pretty rare ethnicity…</p>

suny stony brook, suny geneseo, boston college, nyu, brown, cornell, northeastern, tufts, and princeton. </p>

<p>I’m applying to the College for philosophy/political science. Sent Part I near the end of September, but haven’t received any news about interviews. Probably because I’m Canadian, they don’t have too many people in my area. I want to go so much!! Anyone know exact dates? How will we find out?</p>
<p>For people doubting their essay: it’s only going to be read once. If it looked good to you on a first impression, it will probably look good to the admissions officer too. Even if it’s not philosophically profound enough to be published in one of your life memoirs, it should be interesting enough to make a person smile for a few minutes.</p>
<p>By the way, does anybody feel like they applied to Columbia and don’t really know why? I’m kinda getting that feeling like “won’t be the biggest disappointment if I didn’t go to Columbia”. I’m going to hold on to that feeling for now. So that I can be either less disappointed, or much more surprised. (I hope I will be surprised)</p>
<p>I know exactly what you mean saltyballs (i feel really weird typing that btw, haha). its like one day i think that if i dont get in i will go CRAZY and the next day i think i wouldnt mind going to any of the other schools im applying to. but my bday is in early dec so getting in would be an AMAZING gift and im sure i wouldnt second-guess my decision at all then. </p>

and for the picture i put one of me standing at the podium in the rotunda at Low library pretending to make a speech, but i just realized that maybe that was a bad idea–what if i wasnt supposed to be there or something? ahh scary. but i mean, there was no sign saying you couldnt go there…</p>
