alkfjsdlkfj less than 24 hours until we find out when we find out. ha.

this is possibly an exceedingly silly question, but would I be considered a first generation, or at least have some sort of advantage, if my mother went to college in a third world country and my dad went to a specialized school (arts)?

hahaha, and as you may have guessed my name is Mariam.

half the panic is being in a state of unkowingness.

sakahn, are you subjected to watching the painfully bad musical-esque hindi movies?

yescolumbia, I’m just white, haha. Okie, if that counts. Sometimes I feel like it’s a whole other ethnicity. :P

YES! but i must say, the intense parts can be quite entertaining.
OMG they should make a bollywood movie about college admissions…or something.

[Columbia, I got your crazy](Columbia, I got your crazy)
oh and that’s an article by jalinovi’s interviewer. it kind of scared me about the workload…

sakahn i totally agree!!

and did anyone else do an overnight at columbia? i did one in mid-oct. what was everyone’s experience like?

i have an interesting story- so my roommate and her friend decided to do shots and got wasted, but they were in another room so they didn’t disturb me considering i had to wake up at 5am! but then at 3:30 am my roommate comes in and is vomiting everywhere- including on my sleeping bag! then she passes out and i have to literally take care of her the whole night.

haha but i still love columbia
i don’t plan on partying that much (it was during midterms!) but i would love to explore the city all the time!!

not going to lie, i still get really emotional during some parts. they’re far too dramatic for their own good.

lmao, if they haven’t already i’m sure they’re working on their own version of “Accepted.”

would I be able to tour the campus if I went during winter break?

@ sarah1

i had an overnight stay around late september-ish. i stayed at john jay…no one was getting wasted, but it was the day of thing the called a “study break.” i got to run around morningside heights with a couple of them getting the goods for the break. overall, it was a great experience, and only furthered my passion to have to be there.

sounds way better than my overnight!

Does anyone if Columbia still sends “likely” letters?
Did they even do this procedure for EDers?

I would love to learn something other than Spanish!

how abt something other than Hebrew! i started Hebrew in kindergarten… i think its time for a change

i love spanish, corriendo de tiempo (yeah that was dumb)!
i heard they dont send likely letters and i havent heard of anyone getting one…

is the campus open for tour during winter break?
