Thanks for your response, the decision said the college I applied to (CALS) would contact me with more info in a few days. I am SHOCKED, I truly expected flat out rejection. Does it matter where I attend? Since its guaranteed do I fill out any sort of application?

@thesockshave you can attend any accredited 4 year or 2 year institution and in December you will get a very short application, at least for ILR which is where my GT was from, no essays, professor recommendations or anything like that. Congrats on the GT by the way! It’s not the ideal situation to be in, but it’s still a great opportunity if you are really determined to attend Cornell!

@iluvskool Are going to Cornell with your GT? If so, how is the transition for you? I heard people at the “stepping-stone” college you attend are not always pleased with your situation. Since there is an application is it actually guaranteed? Thanks for your advice!

Also (sorry just thought up another question), what college did you spend your year at? and how did you notify them of your GT?

Just got into ILR!!! WHOOOOOOOOOHOOOOO!!! Missed their phone call yesterday, called them back this morning to hear the good news.

P.S. I was offered the transfer option last year, but I botched it. I had 4 A’s and a B-. The TO was no longer valid but I’m so glad that they took a chance on me.

CONG! Wish we all get accepted!

Congrats Bt!! Good to hear they’ve started sending out decisions. What were your stats? Can you log into housing?

I honestly wish the best for you guys. CC allows for this great community to form. And especially among transfers, we all know what its like to get rejected by top choices…yet still work towards a second chance.

in high school I had a 3.5 GPA (At a top high school…it was higher but I choked Junior year and that tanked my GPA), 2200+ SAT, 800 Math 2…my extra curriculars were my strength though.

I hope I dont sound obnoxious at all. Last year I was rejected by 13 of 15 schools, Cornell being the biggest reach of them all. Funny how this all works out.

Thank you for the good wishes. I really do appreciate that

Congrats Btknight! And by botch the GT, did you have to apply like a regular transfer? Also can you log into housing?

@obstemp in fact I did post on the correct thread. I’m transferring this fall for sophomore year. Thanks for the congrats, best of luck to you!

Awesome!

To all you recently accepted people, can you log into housing?

Have any of the College of Arts and Science applicants heard back yet? Have any CAS applicants seen a change in their application status page to application is complete and has been forwarded to the selection committee etc?

@SMR I still applied like a TO student but was told that it’d take longer

Also, I cannot login to housing. It tells me I need a real NetID as opposed to my app one

@Middtransferout, CAS usually sends its earliest acceptances around mid-April, and then rolling all the way to May.

@Btknight, congrats man I’m happy for you. Oh are you sure you’re logging into the right app? There is one using the applicant ID and one using the net ID.

[Log In to the Housing Portal](<a href=“Residential Life | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University”>Residential Life | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University)

^^ The link that says “without netID”. I’m just very curious/anxious so sorry if it seems like I’m bugging you!

This wait is killing me…

OK… I was going to randomly say just got the acceptance email. However, remembering my anxiety owhile following this thread last semester, I decided to offer advice versus causing panic…
I was accepted last semester. The wait was agonizing. Some important notes you may or not already know.
- The to-do list myth: being able to log on to the to-do list with app id’s and being able to do some tasks on the list don’t mean your accepted.
- The housing portal myth: this is the same as the to-list being able to log on to the portal and apply for housing also does not mean you have been accepted.
…for one reason or another some people can log on very early many still ended up getting rejected. In my case I was able to log on to the to-do list and do things on the list very early. I was not able to log on to housing until after I recieved my acceptance letter and activated your net id - your net id will be the final part of your app id… ex app13-chj21… chj21 would be your net id…from my experience it doesn’t work until your deposit has been received and you activate it on line…

I hope this helps calm some nerves I’m sure many of you are having. Just remember its only college not life or death enjoy the wait, don’t stress over it. Any questions feel free to ask. Good luck to all.

P. S. Don’t mind the typos phone auto correct may have tweaked some things

Thank you beattheodds, I think your pointers might help ease the stress a bit. I won’t even try to see if I can log into housing/meal plans or not. I don’t want to get my hopes up in vain.

I think the real agony will begin in about two weeks when the first wave of applicants finds out if they’re in or not. Those of us that don’t hear back from Cornell by then will be dying with the suspense of “when will I find out… when, when, when???”

I’m glad I was wrong fingazntoez.
I hope the rest of us can join you at Cornell this Fall. If you decide to go of course.
Congratulations once again.

@Middtransferout

Are you sure yours shows forwarded to the selection committee? My is still showing forwarded to the admissions staff for review. Anybody has the same sentence on the page as Midd?

I can login to To do list but not housing. Is there anyone who can login to To do list?
