Quite interesting.

Again, Any word on AP Calc BC?

Anyone know anything about Spanish 2? Is there an honors version?

87% done with AP Human Geography (Second Segment). There is unbelievably 19 assignments for the second segment. 4 exams, 2 FR and 2 MC. There are three quizzes and the rest are assignments (with 2 DBAS). I’d recommend taking AP Human Geography if I were you all. I just signed up for AP Stats and I absolutely love math so I will give a more detailed report within a month for those who want to know more.

*Side track. If you want to raise your unweighted GPA take Driver’s Ed. I knocked it out in 2 days! And it lowers insurance

Hey mosters how long would it take to finish AP Human Geography if I worked on it 2-3 hours today?

@Saugus

To get honors credit for foreign languages, you have to take level three. Levels one and two are regular.

I know it’s a little cheap in raising your GPA, but are u allowed to take the honors equivalent of a course after you take the AP course for the subject, e.g. taking Honors Economics after taking AP Macro/Micro

@000ooo000ooo

It will take you roughly a month for Segment 1. I started on October 17th and ended on November 24th. There are 55 assignments (ask if you want me to go in depth) which can be time consuming. You’ll mostly be writing 2-3 paragraphs for the assignments. But yeah, 2-3 hours a day should get you done in 5 weeks.

bump, anyone have anymore info on courses?

So it’s mainly just writing paragraphs about the material? That doesn’t sound too bad and it also sounds like something I could do when I am in the car/ in a boring class. Could you maybe go into a little more detail though please? Thank you for responding I really appreciate the info.

Also, by 2-3 hours a day do you mean I could finish segment 1 in a month or the whole class?

For the AP comp sci on FLVS, do I need to know any type of programming before I take the course? The prerequisites say just Algebra 1 and 2, but everyone who takes AP comp sci in my school takes a course in Java first, so I’m curious.

What is FLVS? I looked it up and found their website but I’m a little confused. Does it count towards an out of state student’s gpa and credit? How can you sign up? Do the grades count? And is it worth it?

Bumpppppppp
:D

@anmsestudent

I talked to the AP Comp Sci teacher for FLVS. He says that you don’t need to have prior programming prior to taking the course, but having a bit of knowledge does come in handy. It just allows you to take the course faster if you had some knowledge, but it’s not required.

FLVS is Florida Virtual School, a program that offers free education online. You can participate in a part time or full time program. You can take one course or several courses. You would have to talk to your guidance counselor to know whether it counts for out of state student GPA and credit. For most of those living in Florida, it should automatically count towards students’ weighted GPA.

You can sign up by clicking on the “Sign Up” button on their website: [Online High School | Online Middle School | Grades K-12 | Florida Virtual School](http://www.flvs.net)
It’s right at the top of the web page. It’s hard to miss.

Like I said, talk to your guidance counselor on whether the grades would count on your transcript. It may be different for out of state students.

In my opinion, FLVS is definitely worth it. You can boost your GPA with FLVS classes, as well as take courses not offered in your school. There are many benefits to taking FLVS, including being able to go at your own pace, and having a one-on-one interaction with teachers. Overall, FLVS is a wonderful program and provides many opportunities for students living in or out of Florida.

Wow thanks so much AimHigh2. That helps a ton and I will definitely look into it. Im pretty sure im going to do it. One more question: would it be worth it to take it over the summer for an Ap course when the exams are in may? Like, would I forget some of the material?

I’m thinking about signing up for honors economics right now since it’s still available at this time of year (most classes aren’t) and it’s only a 16-18 week class. Would I still be allowed to take AP Micro/AP macro next year if I do this honors? Does anyone know?

you could probably just skip honors and go right into AP. Not sure though.

Anyone know how good AP Bio is?

Kinda off topic here, but how is the Computer Programming class for FLVS? Is it easy?

^I have the same question
