dotzie, what were your stats? Looks like I am going to be waitlisted for MSB. Anyone have any tips for trying to get off the waitlist?

oh man, this is totally killing me :(

8% for SFS?! AHHH

That figure, 160 out of 2000, is the same for the College. I think that’s just the overall number Georgetown took this year for the College, SFS, and MSB.

Yea those are ugly numbers. This doesn’t look good at all.I’m not going to call and harass the admissions people about a decision, but i sure wish they would hurry up.I’m not looking forward to another semester of clown college.Maybe Georgetown night school…

Accepted at MSB!!!

The funny thing is, I visited the campus the day before I received my admissions letter in the mail, and they had told me I had to wait until June 1st when I asked admissions in person.

STATS:
College: The Honors College at Miami Dade College
GPA: 3.86 with Highest Honors
SAT:1330 out of 1600
E/C: President of Student Gov, Community Service, Business Clubs, etc.

joetheplumber when did you receive your letter?

Hey just to be clear guys, the acceptance letter doesn’t say they accepted 160/2000 - it says they are intending to enroll 160, and I’m fairly certain that was for all of Georgetown, not just SFS

Which means, given their yield, they probably accepted a little over 300

I got into MSB, and I’m really nervous about this whole thing. I didn’t have a great time at NYU, and my family’s financial status sucks. But anyway, some of you asked for stats and here goes,

HS: public school, suburban
GPA: 3.8 before senioritis
SAT: 2200
SATII: only thing commendable was Bio, Chem and MathIIC were around 700
AP: took 7, got one 3 and the rest were 4’s and 5’s

College:
1st semester GPA: 3.5
Midterm grades…uh…calculate GPA on them and you get a 2.9
Final grades: 3.1?? Not all out yet
Few activities outside of HS

I don’t know how I got in, but I’m really glad I did. I’m impressed by everyone’s stats so far…I must be the ugly duckling or something. Maybe they took into account the grading curve at Stern. I wish everyone still waiting good luck!

Collegeboard.com states that about 300 transfer applicants were accepted last year so rsi, you make a good point. I think the acceptance rate is closer to the given value of 19%.

i altered the site a little bit… now you can see who’s on.

I heard that many transfer applicants received a tracking number via email after they submitted their applications. I called admissions a few weeks ago and they gave me a number to write down somewhere, but still never emailed me a tracking number for confirmation. They just told me over the phone that they received part I of my application, which is all they can admit to receiving. I also haven’t received an email regarding a decision, an alumni interview, or who my admissions counselor is. Should I be worried?

Globalgirl…

I wouldn’t be worried about not getting an interview.Apparently they have very little bearing on your decision.

No one heard from SFS today?

has anyone heard from the college? it seems that lately, everyone here is hearing from SFS.

ALright guys, someone please answer this question: if you did not receive an acceptance or waitlist notification by now, does it pretty much mean you are rejected??

from my experience: I was informed that I was unlikely to be admitted by Georgetown in early May because I had requested an early decision in order to secure my spot at Vanderbilt in the likely instance that I would be rejected. The admissions rep told me in my rejection email that the committee had completed the review of most/if not all the transfer applicants. At this point, I have yet to receive my official rejection letter. Based on the acceptance postings by others, no news at this stage seems to be bad news.

yeah i didnt receive ANYTHING after i submitted the part2 of the application, literally nothing. i expect nothing … just wish they would get it over with alrdy!!!

i haven’t received anything yet, though they told me they were leaning towards no. No official letter yet though…

Yea this is starting to get irritating to the point where there arrogance is a turnoff. How long does it take for you to send out admit or rejection letters. My life is kind of on hold because of this.I need to make plans one way or the other.Waiting till the beginning of June is kinda inconvenient.Makes me wonder even if i get in do i want to do business with these people for the next 2 years.
