**Official Georgetown University Transfer Thread 2009**

I haven’t heard back either. I’m assuming this is bad news at this point :/

me too, but dont care ;)

i have not heard back either, but i called a week ago and an admissions officer told me that my application had not even gone into committee for consideration yet, so i don’t see how not getting a letter at this point can be completely bad because there is a chance these are the same circumstances for you as well.

i havent heard a single thing after i turned in part II of the application form. AH, im gonna think that its a rejection at this point so i dont have my hopes up :frowning: asdkfjkldjf, just wanna get it over with right now.

I would guess since they admit on a rolling basis, if you havent heard yet, they havent reviewed it yet.

Cheer up everybody, I haven’t heard a thing back either. I’ve been in regular correspondance with the admission officers though… and Georgetown Office of Undergrad Admissions is so friendly and helpful. Whatever happens, at least they weren’t ass****es about it!

i got a letter of acceptance to the college on saturday, postmarked friday. they are sending out acceptances still, i applied the day before the deadline. i live in MD so I got it the next day. my guess more will hit today since its the first mail day since Saturday.

congrats jko1500! thats great news for the people who havent heard back yet.

i didn’t get anything but i called and they said the committee’s done reviewing all of them and that they couldn’t offer me a place. which sucks

Have any accepted transfers received their NetID’s and Passwords yet? And if so, how soon after you sent in your deposit did you receive it?

still waiting patiently…of course making plans to not move anytime soon as well, lol. I’ve expected to not get in for so long, I would be inconvenienced to get accepted because I obviously would HAVE to attend. Fortunately, I still have another 7 classes to take for an associates, which means I get to do real college hunting next year, all over again. whoo.hoo

just checked the mailbox, nothing :(

Well, I received the letter today and they flat out said NO. I was really upset because there is no explanation of why. My stats were great. Anyways, it’s time to move forward.
I can tell you that when I look back I will be happy I didn’t get in.
For those that received a letter of admitance, congratulations! and please kick some a$$ and be the BEST and for those, like me that didn’t get in, congratulations as well, and let’s kick some a$$ somewhere else. Just because they didn’t give us the chance doesn’t mean we are not worth it… their loss not ours! Do great things somewhere else!

I got into Stanford and Brown but not SFS.

Whatev, screw Gtown I’m going home to Cali.

Received my rejection in the mail today. Third time’s the charm right? SATs:1370/1930 SATIIs: not good at all. HS GPA: Almost top 10%, 3.8ish (can’t remember exactly) College GPA: (freshmen year) 3.70. Honors, great recs, awesome interview, everything much better than in high school. High school is what I think did me in. Rejection comes one sheet of paper, standard envelope. 2,000 candidates, 14% offered admission, + we’re sorry blah blah blah.

Wow Stanford and Brown but not GT.Who do these guys think they are?I’m guessing there were a lot of Ken and Barbies legacies who could pay full price. That’s the economy for you.

I understand where you’re coming from KravMaga AD but please don’t make those gross generalizations. I come from an immigrant working class family. There is no way I could pay even half the tuition. I worked really hard to get in.

Speaking of which has anyone received their financial aid packet yet?

Waitlisted never felt so good!

officially rejected. damn im so sad :(

oh well, guess its either nyu or ucla for me lol

Received my official notice of being waitlisted. I plan to stay on it though I really hope they notify people prior to July 15th since that would make it extremely difficult to move to DC within a month’s time.
