^^^^ LOL! Me neither! So this makes me even more stressed. I just finished finals and am back home. If I don’t get an answer by next week I am thinking about sending in my spring grades to boost my odds. I’m a freshman now.

Well if rejections don’t go out until the end, that’s probably accurate: more than 80%–a huge majority–won’t receive responses until June.

^ wow, way to bring the mood down…
lol, just kidding :P

hey guys seriously don’t freak out I emailed an admissions officer the other day that I’ve been in correspondence with for the past few weeks and she told me that while they have sent out some decisions, they are yet to make most of them. I don’t see why she would lie about that. People heard decisions last year well into May.

^ you got in?

hey guys, quick question.

So, I really need an answer from GU (deadline for Vandy is the 13th, and they won’t push it any further), and I was told to e-mail the admissions director for the Government major. I e-mailed her on Monday and have yet to receive a response.

Should I:

Wait.

@lrhang: There’s a good chance.

I emailed and asked, and got a one sentence reply: You will hear June 1st. I’m taking that as a rejection, and moving on as much as I can. I am a tiny bit devastated, but I am a nontraditional student and I guess I didn’t work as hard as I thought I did. Good luck to everyone else and congrats to those who have been accepted!

I’m getting pretty anxious. I convinced myself there was no chance but then I emailed my interviewer to talk about Bin Laden and I mentioned that I was anxiously awaiting my decision for Gtown.

He replied:
“At this moment I will only share that your interview report ended with the short declarative: Admit her.”

???

@kmarc009, I think your interviewer is just trying to tell you that he/she is pulling for you.

I remember mine told me to inform him of the decision because Georgetown doesn’t tell him. Also, though it is great that your interview went well, my interviewer said that some amazing interviewees were rejected and vice versa.

Hope that helps.

Good luck!

^ Hehe thanks. While that is helpful it’s not exactly what I wanted to hear. :)

received my transfer credit evaluation yesterday, still no word on financial aid though

Awesome, thanks for the update Buegie!

I have been stressed and am so over it! I applied as a Psych and Criminal Justice major… Still haven’t heard and it ****es me off! Just blowing off steam…

@theclassof2013. Have you considered the deposit strategy or calling Vandy and asking for an extension?

@Buegie. That’s great news. I hope all your classes transferred over properly.

@Ny27intx. I’m sure all of us can relate. I’m pretty sure someone will find out this week (or at least I hope, hahaha). Good luck!

@hopestobeahoya,

The may 13th deadline is an extension. I’ve pretty much determined that I’m not receiving a response because I was rejected – so I went ahead and sent my deposit to Vandy.

^I understand why you feel like that, but I feel inclined to tell you that most of the acceptances have probably not come out yet. I contacted an admissions officer for an early read because I have a housing deposit due at my current institution, and she told me that I’ll have to wait until next week because it is early in their admissions process. But, if you’d rather go to Vandy over Gtown, then it doesn’t really matter whether you get into Georgetown or not. If you don’t mind me asking, which one were you leaning toward?

I’m leaning towards Georgetown. I’ve always wanted to go there. Vanderbilt was more of a wildcard for me (I just really wanted to get out of my current school). I mean, I will make the best of my experience at both schools, but my overall experience would probably be better at Georgetown.

^Okay, gotcha. Don’t lose hope yet. It’s too early, especially because we’ve been told directly from the admissions officers that it’s still early in the admissions process. I think more decisions will come out this week.

If anyone finds out anything, please keep us posted!
