@thatguyfromsocal Thank you so much! At this point, we need all the reassurance we can get. It’s very nice of you to come talk to us. We can’t wait until we’re the ones looking back at the frantic CC days.

yay junior member now! probs just from this thread:P

Thanks @thatguyfromsocal !

This thread having way more posts than that of last year is in great part due to the fact that for the past dozens of pages the same handful of users has been posting multiple times a day. With that said, I’d bet that the number of SCEA applicants broke 5k this year.

@thatguyfromsocal thank u soo much! We really appreciate u taking out the time to write us a few kind words!

Hey guys! I have been checking this thread religiously for weeks and wanted to formally introduce myself. Applicant from south florida here and am super excited/nervous/every adjective under the sun about acceptances coming out in 9 days… All of you guys are so interesting I just had to join in on the conversation!

@jewwlioonn south florida? that sounds so much better, i could really use some sun right now .-.

@jewwlioonn ayoo wassupp?!?? Nice to meet you.

Well, there were 23 on the pledge thread as of this date last year vs. 34 currently. So, almost 50% more avid posters for 1500 more posts. We’ll see if there is any type of positive correlation between the number of posters and the number of applicants. I just don’t see how anyone wavering between Harvard (21% early acceptance last year) and say Yale (15%) or Stanford (10.7%) would not want to throw their hat into the Harvard ring. If it were me, I would!

@falcon1 positivity 4 da win

@easycadence a little too much sun… looking forward to real seasons up in cambridge if I get in crossing fingers as opposed to our two seasons: hot and humid.

@thatguyfromsocal what do the notification emails look like?

@Jewwlioonn Nice to meet you!!

@easycadence Tigers crush Falcons so I’m in retreat mode. Anyway, I attended the Ivy not mentioned a long time ago so I have no axe to grind. Just a curious bystander. Statisically, those who post on these threads have a much higher acceptance rate so most of you are fine no matter the numbers.

@calliemoon11 Nice to meet you too! I love how diverse your interests are. I bet your essays are fantastic!!!

@BeachyBunny Yay for Classics! Which works in particular are you most interested in?

@Jewwlioonn Aww, thank you! My interests do tend to be rather obscure, haha. Best of luck to you!

@AuTurtle what state are you from?? I am waiting for IL to let us know who got the USSYP/Hearst! I am one of the finalists

The notification email (or at least mine) was set up like this:
Subject Line: Your Application to Harvard College (I believe it’s left intentionally vague)
Body: Dear Mr. (Surname),

Congratulations! (Followed by lots of information about Visitas, the class Facebook group, financial aid, and instructions on how to reply to the offer of admission.)

Hope that was helpful, @Zerowulf

@zerowulf the subject will be

“Your Application to Harvard College”

Then it will say,
Dear Ms. (or Mr.) ____________

and then it will either say,

Congratualtions! (in bold)… etc. etc.

or it will say

We regret to inform you… etc. etc.

By the way everyone acceptance emails came in at 5:30 last year. so if they send them in any particular order, I would say, the later the better.
