Any Game of Thrones fans on board? (books/show)
I’m really in the mood to procrastinate.

I don’t think anyone from my school applied SCEA this year. (In the past 2 years 3 people applied we got 1 admit, waitlist, and rejection… So we’re pretty even)

However, an AMAZING girl from another school in my city is applying and I am almost certain I will be deferred because she is a shoo-in. We’re interested in different fields though so hopefully they won’t penalize me just cause we are from the same city!

@collegeapps2k14 I wouldn’t worry about other people in the same city unless you’re in a super super competitive state where they try to cap the number of applicants for yet another kind of diversity (like NJ, NY and California)

@frozens It was 35 degrees today and I was in shorts and a t-shirt

32 degrees north of Boston right now! nice and cozy for a december… xD. I just can’t imagine having a warm Christmas without snow.

Does this mean that the decisions will still go out on the 11th, even though the decisions will be finalized on Monday?

@Burke1 Yes. The person on the phone confirmed that decisions will go out on Thursday. I’m guessing that they’ll spend the rest of that week putting together letters.

@entrebusecon: I both fear and respect people like you. That’s absolutely insane in my opinion! Don’t you get really cold?! I guess I’m spoiled by the sun, haha.

@frozens I am kind of weird in that heat has a very large effect on me, but cold doesn’t. When it is over 75 degrees I just get so sleepy and tired I can barely move, especially in humid heat. My brain just sort of shuts down. My craziest cold weather stunt was probably hiking a mile naked in a foot of snow last year.

@entrebusecon how are you even still alive?!?!

Heat makes me sleepy too, but cold just about kills me. Ach that sounds terrible!

First generation here as well. Small public school in Ohio! No acceptances to any top 25 according to naviance which is expected since no one has ever applied to the top 25 lol.

Ahaha no @skslxxbjk it really shouldn’t! And @frozens that’s so awesome, pretty much everyone I know talks about CA like it’s a meteorological paradise lol

@Jalaquan
I hope you get in! I wish you the best of luck.

@jalebigirl hmm, I’m from texas. Not sure how it stacks up against those states but definitely one of the most represented states at colleges.

any Long Islanders here? not sure how much competition to expect but my GC warned that it’s fierce around here

@ilovethecity Thanks! I hope you do too!

@boxofdonuts I’m from LI! And your GC is right, it’s craaazy here. There’s so much competition

@AppAnxiety At my school, top students tend to be VERY tightlipped about if/where they’re applying, especially for Early. So I have no idea where most people are applying, which creates this weird culture of fear and secrecy around EA. I totally get what you said about feeling watched. O.o

@hnorelle Do you know anyone else applying from LI? I know of surprisingly very few this year.

Some of these chance threads make me want to withdraw my application.

Question: what’s your second choice after Harvard? Mine’s probably UChicago.
