@entrebusecon Yeah, I concur with @jalebigirl: how are you still alive?! That’s crazy, and I’m shivering just thinking about it. And it’s funny that you think 75 degrees is hot – here, that’s basically cold enough to wear a sweater and some boots!
@jalebigirl So, so true! It’s always amazing (and super intimidating) to see how accomplished some people on this site are! Mine would probably be Yale, and it’s a very, very close second.

Mine is definetly USC (a school I have a much better chance at than harvard haha!) then NYU

But wow if I actually got into harvard i would probably cry then tell the world!! :-bd

@boxofdonuts there are TWO other kids at my school alone! :(( I don’t really know much about any other schools, but I’d guess it’s pretty similar, which sucks.

@hnorelle lol my school had at least 5 applicants last year (of which only one was accepted)! How’s your school’s record with sending kids to top schools like Harvard every year?

@frozens @jalebigirl I guess we might be seeing each other no matter the result of Early. Mine are UChicago and Yale!! (They’re tied.)

@calliemoon11 @frozens that would be great!!
but hopefully we’ll all see each other at Harvard
(or at least you’ll see each other!)

@boxofdonuts Actually, we’re not so great. We’re a good school, but we had one kid go maybe 7 years ago and that’s all naviance shows. We usually have a couple (3-10) kids apply every year but no one usually gets in. Most of the qualified kids at my school end up at top 25s or lower-caliber, cheaper schools.

We seem to consistently get ~2 people in to Harvard annually, but they were incredible people! Quite a few people go to Ivies/Stanford every year though.

My 2nd choice is definitely CMU!!!

@hnorelle
@boxofdonuts
I’m from Long Island too. A girl at my school has already been accepted to Harvard for the Class of 2019. She’s an athletic recruit. Lucky her! Other kids at my school are applying to Yale, Stanford, and Princeton, and I’m a Columbia ED applicant.

My school (public magnet) usually has a couple of kids get in every year. Last year 3, year before 4, etc. Per Naviance, my school has overall 18% acceptance, considerably higher than the overall ~5.9% (last year). However, a large portion of that 18% are legacies, and for some reason a lot of recruited athletes to Harvard have come from my school. I believe there are 7 people total applying Harvard SCEA from my school, quite a few!

Does Naviance cost money? I can’t seem to figure out how it works? haha

I’m lucky that I’m the only SCEA applicant from my school this year. Two of my friends (with better stats) are applying RD so my profile will not be compared to theirs. I think being a legacy will put me in a different pool.

@ivykid4thewin Naviance doesn’t cost money, but only some high schools use it

Hello everyone! I am actually applying RD but I couldn’t find a thread for just RD, and I have a question because I’m confused about how Harvard does interviews. Does an interviewer contact you? And do they only contact you after you submit? Thank you!!

@jk1234 yes like maybe just a day or two after I submitted I was contacted for an interview

@jk1324 you can be contacted either by email, phone, or text. Whatever you provided on the Common App.

I will predict that the acceptance rate will be around 5.0 to 5.9

@NASA2014,

In the EA round?

So i have noticed that people are saying the decisions will be notified on the 11th but Harvard website says the 15th. Could anyone clarify this for me?
