Official Harvard SCEA Class of 2019 Applicants Thread

I just want it to be next Thursday already… I’m sick of obsessing over it and not being able to sleep at night because I just want to know

@amberlee9‌ I just want to find out the result and move on with my life D:

I also want it to be Thursday! When will H email us the date and time
(I know that we r getting them 11th, 5:00 but won’t we get an email to confirm it?)

@amberlee9‌
I’m applying to another Ivy, and I can’t sleep at night either

So, if it is the 11th at 5pm, is it 2pm PST?

@AppAnxiety Yes

@AppAnxiety‌ yup!
Guys do you think Harvard takes into consideration all the other colleges you will be applying to?

@PcollegegirlP The only reason for Harvard to look at other colleges you are applying to is to make sure you did not break the Restrictive agreement of Early Action.

@entrebusecon‌ oh ok thnx! I was just wondering because my interview form had the question, “what other colleges are you applying to?”
:)

@calliemoon11 THATS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID TO MY BOYFRIEND TODAY!

@ilovethecity me too, but its not as important to me as H :((

Does anyone know when Harvard will send out the email stating when they will close down the portal and confirmation of Dec 11 notification?

@plumplum‌ Last time, its was six days before the notification date, so it should be today. However, if they’re finalizing decisions on Monday, maybe it’ll be next week.

@amberlee9 - all I can assume is that there were changes in the numbers from March 2014 until they posted the Class of 2018 profile on their website. The admitted number in the March press release is 25 less than the 2018 website profile admitted number. I made a mistake and did not take the 120 deferred EA/accepted RD applicants out of the total RD acceptances. If I correct that error, the deferred EA/accepted RD rate stays at 3.8% and the RD acceptance rate, for students that originally applied RD, drops to 3.2%. The biggest question mark in my mind is the 120 number for the deferred EA/accepted RD applicants. If the 120 number is lower, then the percentages converge, most likely because they planned it that way! I guess what it comes down to is that if you are deferred you are now in the RD pool and you have about the same chances as anyone else in the RD pool, possibly a bit more, but seemingly no less. The wait list admittances/25 additional admitted on the profile impact the percentages slightly.

Has anyone had their portal shut down?

@numbersfun I can’t login to mine. I think they shut it down.

I can still log into mine.

I can still log into mine too…

I am still able to log in as well

I’m also able to log in !

So that means no decision has been made, which calls into question the Thursday, at 5pm notification date. Is this correct?
