@Tiberium What’s Silverturtle?

@amberlee9 I deleted it (edited it because I can’t delete) like 2 minutes after I posted it. Completely regretted posting it or even letting it leave my mind. It was just my sleep-deprivated, app-saturated, decision-expecting, supposed-to-be-studying-for-a-biology-final-tomorrow brain doing the talking.

@Tiberium I kid!!! I found it :)

btw, I have a question. I know everyone has been saying that decisions are coming out on Thursday, December 11th at 5:00 pm EST. However, I went on the “Applicant Status” page (https://admweb.fas.harvard.edu/ha/Applicant/ApplicantFrame.html) and it says the following:

“Early Action applicants who wish to update their email address, must do so by midnight on December 11.”

If we have until midnight on the 11th, doesn’t that mean that they’re coming out the next day (12th)? Or does that mean midnight like at 12:01 am on the 11th?

@Tiberium Silverturtle is a who. A prolific member from the past.

@karabekian As you mentioned, Harvard’s application was a walk in the park compared to some of these others. I made the decision to knock as many out before Thanksgiving because there was no way I could do them justice if I waited until Harvard’s decisions.

@Karabekian @Easycadence I think he is referring to the bizarre nature of the people on this thread. This weird sickly, gushing love people are posting about. All the empty encouragement, all the people who must externalize all their feelings in hope of a positive response, almost justification of their emotions. The searching desperately for others as fruity and punchy with stress as them. The push to be different and cute, without stopping to realize that they are just copying everyone else with this faux individuality. The huge number of posts with people yelling about how much they love everyone here and how much they know everyone will get in (but don’t feel bad if you don’t!). Sort of just throwing compliments at a mirror. At least that’s how I interpret it.

@entrebusecon well said.

@entrebusecon i see… makes sense if ya ask me

@rick13,

I believe that said page is outdated.

The current login is at apply.college.harvard.edu.

@entrebusecon although at first i DID think he meant something more academically demeaning…? which is a bit cruel but what the heck who can afford to care

@entrebusecon eh. Completely something to lose faith in the class of 2019 over.

@silverturtle are you applying to any colleges after decision day regardless of the Harvard decision? I heard that if you get into two or more comparable schools, you can get a competitive financial aid package by making them match each other and negotiating.

edit: I mean @skieurope, not silverturtle haha whoever that is

“On December 11th at 5 PM EST, Harvard will notify its Early Action applicants of their admissions decisions. Yale will notify applicants on December 16th. Penn will let its Early Decision applicants — which the school loves so much — know on December 15th at 5 PM EST. Princeton will just beat Penn to the punch, informing applicants at 3 PM EST that same day (December 15th). Dartmouth will be contacting students around then too as will Cornell and Columbia. Brown will inform its applicants at 5 PM EST on December 11th…just like Harvard.
Outside of the Ivy League colleges, Duke will send out admissions decisions on December 11th, Georgetown on December 15th, Johns Hopkins on December 12th at 3 PM EST, MIT on December 13th, Northwestern on December 15th, and Stanford on December 15th. For those of you waiting anxiously for the news, it’s almost that time!”

@Tiberium
It’s weird that it’s still active, though! I’m able to log in and see the info that I’ve sent as part of my application… I’ve been logging into the newer one you mentioned and it does have more info. I only rediscovered the old one a few days ago and thought it was weird that even though it look old, it still works and displays up-to-date information

What information are you using to get into it…?

I don’t remember ever receiving an access code for it.

For all of you who are worry about this: https://admweb.fas.harvard.edu/ha/Applicant/ApplicantFrame.html , it was last updated last year. Harvard is not using this site this year, so don’t worry!

@entrebusecon,

Yeah, I realized that a bit late into posting it.

I felt like an idiot after I understood that, so I removed it.

@lalib1997 As far as I’m aware, Columbia is supposed to be releasing decisions at the same date and time as Harvard, and Duke is supposed to release decisions on Wednesday, so IDK how accurate that source is

@karabekian No. If I am fortunate to be accepted, my unsent applications will remain unsent. The ones that I have already sent had early deadlines or are schools that I really would not mind attending if H does not pan out

Wait, where does it say that decisions come out on the 11th? I’ve been looking and can’t find it.
