@frozens yea I understand! After all there are sooooo many applicants and only a small number that is admitted!
I’m actually looking forward to two things!
1: the decisions , obviously!
2: when everyone posts their decisions in that special kind of format, they will basically also give their stats and their gender lol… The names are so confusing that I can’t even create a picture in my head when I’m talking to all u guys lol… Hahaha… Looking forward to that
@skieurope haha I understand u, but I try to stop myself but I just can’t… All I think about nowadays is Harvard…

@PcollegegirlP I’ve seen Aubrey’s acceptance video too… ahahahaha it makes me a bit emotional too

@PcollegegirlP HAHAHAHA that’s the one I was thinking of! Aubrey! I’m also really excited for everyone to “reveal” themselves, whether or not I myself make it. It’ll be nice to finally know who exactly I’m talking to here.

@Karabekian I plan to see both. And yes, Brian Greene is the man. I love him!

@WooTheDay and @calliemoon11 hahah u can actually see how bad she wanted it! :’)
Lol I should have put a weird name too, my gender is TOO obvious… Lol unless nobody noticed haha kidding!

i think my ethnicity is pretty obvious from my last name too, hahah

My username is the name of a character of mine, my fictional alter ego. The first and last name have the same cultural origins as my first and last name, so I guess the username is kind of revealing?
Let’s each post a random fact about ourselves to get to know each other better! I’ll start: I’m a major Star Trek nerd and I speak some Vulcan.

@calliemoon11 What’s so great about Harvard and other American institutions is that students get to explore so many different topics. Here in the UK, you apply to a course and you never deviate from it, which I think is really restricting.
I didn’t know about it until you just told me about it and I’ve spent the last hour learning about the theory of inflation! Thank you for telling me about it, its great! EdX is pretty similar and that’s a great website too.

@Karabekian If you would like to watch it, you can find it by searching ‘Human Universe’ into YouTube. I really recommend it, especially episodes 3 and 5.

Yeah I agree, I love astronomy documentaries. I can’t wait to watch Interstellar and the Theory of Everything either, they both look amazing.

@bvborussia I was considering applying to some UK schools and ultimately decided against it for that precise reason.
I’m taking that same course! I also took Space, Time, and Einstein and I loved it–it certainly fueled me with ideas for the science fiction novel I’m working on. I’m taking a course on EdX, too!

@calliemoon11 Have you been published?!

Also, does anyone think it’s peculiar that Harvard hasn’t released its applicant numbers for the class of 2019? I wanna know if there was a drop in the number of applicants like last year

Anyone plans to be busy enough on ''that day" so that you wouldn’t get nervous/excited about the decision?? I’ll have an overland trip across cameroon-gabon for about 10 days before the 11th - I expect the internet to not work properly - and on the 11th? Oops I’m on the flight coming home. So that’s it - no attachment no pain lol

do i have weird time zone on cc or something? When i checked the 2018 applicants thread people got their decisions at like 10:30 am

@calliemoon11 Thanks for sharing the World Science U link! That was an awesome website! I’m now showing it to friends interested in going to Astronomy.

I’ve been actually unstoppably searching up Harvard youtube videos, websites, news, etc, too, and it’s been hyping me up and making me more tense every second…so I decided that I really need to stop and focus on other things haha.

I’ve been wondering the same thing, @WooTheDay. I feel that the admissions process have been very mysterious this year.

@WooTheDay

I’m not 100% on this, but I think that Harvard only released its numbers on the 25th last year, so they’re not exactly late yet.

Oh, and everyone has to go watch Interstellar-- like, now. Christopher Nolan is a genius and the movie is three hours long. Watch it enough times, and it’ll be the 11th before you know it .

Guys, I can’t stop thinking about Harvard! I feel I’m gonna lose my mind!

The 25th date makes sense. Thank you!

I don’t think it is unusual that Harvard is posting its early apps after most of the other schools. It creates excitement/anticipation in the news.
