Official Harvard SCEA Class of 2019 Applicants Thread

anyone interested in reading one of my harvard supplements :stuck_out_tongue: message me

It will take some adjustment but I’m sure it will work. They will have to run a very good shuttle service to do so because it’s at least a 12-15 minute walk. Dartmouth’s and Princeton’s engineering buildings are a bit of a walk and no one seems to mind.

Hey guys! I’m new :slight_smile:
Did anyone else send an art supplement along with their application?

@goodinterrupt I did

omg @younger9 , that video is my life now. ahahah

If I get in early NYC will be turnin up. If not 3 more months of hard work

@goodinterrupt‌ I did! Since I took two years of AP Studio Art, I uploaded 10 of my concentration portfolio pieces on slideroom

@frozens Hi! I’m applying to Stanford, Princeton, MIT, WUSTL, UPenn, Columbia, Berkeley, UCLA, Olin School of engineering, and Carnegie Mellon. I really really hope that I get accepted in early admissions though.

Hey guys -

Figured I’d finally make an account since daily updates sound pretty good. How’s everybody feeling? I’m already emotionally preparing myself for the deferral.

@goodinterrupt: yeah, I sent in a Chinese translation I did, but I wasn’t sure if it went with art or additional academic material, so I figured I’d send it in the free way and save myself $10 from the slideroom

@Doxology I’m curious- what kind of translation did you send in? I’m also passionate about linguistics and issues related to translation!

<a href=“OHT Presents: A Harvard Admissions Letter - YouTube”>OHT Presents: A Harvard Admissions Letter - YouTube;

probably the best harvard admissions video i’ve ever seen hahaha
on harvard time is great

To be honest, with the SCEA acceptance rate so high last year, I bet Harvard saw a large increase in the number of early applicants. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the rate below 20%. But one can hope.

@Ambitious19 I did a translation of the Art of War (I only sent in the first chapter since they asked for brevity). That’s actually why I’m applying - so I can go deeper into my study of Classical Chinese.

@jalebigirl‌ thank u very much :slight_smile:
@soccerlover17‌ THANK YOU for sharing that, it really uplifted me :’)
@youngster9‌ haha good job, your info was really helpful… Definitely made my day lol
@thingenthusiast‌ hahah love the way u think and ur logic ! _
@jdondeca‌ I laugh every time I see it lmao hahahha!!!

@calliemoon11 sorry it’s late but for the military school I came there only for my senior year, so there’s nothing bossy here :smiley: We need to do many dumb things like asking for permission to eat or walking on a straight line for the whole year… other than that things are just cool… I got to know people who were going to war and/or who had gone through war – it really changed my perspective a whole lot :slight_smile: On another matter it’s a prep school for kids who go to the service academies (those who have graduated high school somewhere else but the SAs send them to my school one year to prepare) so it’s pretty cool getting to know a bunch of those going to West Point and Annapolis and stuff :smiley:

@harvard00 I’m an international from southeast asia :") I did my high school partly in US though

@goodinterrupt I did as well; I sent a music composition.

@doxology @ambitious19 hello, chinese sistaaahs (and brothaaahs?) !! lol i always wonder how the people on this thread are in real life

guys, tomorrow is december 1st. and that means we’re gonna be in the same month that harvard tells us our decisions. what. :expressionless:

@oystershelleatme‌ HAHAHAHA I can totally picture the awkwardness. I was very surprised when I went to America because people didn’t kiss/say “coucou” :frowning: I felt really isolated and couldn’t express my love. If I go to Harvard I will bring the french tradition on campus, and Harvard will soon turn into a giant mess of greetings à la française. yippii !!

@arielle17 YASSSS. Lol at first it was super awkward for me. I didn’t know how to position my face to receive kisses and I kinda just stood there. But then, I got into and I miss the closeness.

@oystershelleatme hahahahahaha, our greeting is slightly weird when you think about it :stuck_out_tongue: watch this, it’s not in France but it’s very funny : <a href=“Greeting People With A Kiss (ORIGINAL) - YouTube”>Greeting People With A Kiss (ORIGINAL) - YouTube; :slight_smile: :slight_smile:
