@clumsy456 @gibby Thank you!! I’m trying to mentally prepare myself, and that really helped me. :)

@bvborussia My main ECs require some explanation, so I used the resume to fully detail what exactly I do. The word count in the activities list was a bit too short for me! I basically held a magnifying glass to certain areas of my activities list.

@mimosa26 Oh, wow. That sounds like an incredible experience to have.

@tdmio97 Awesome article; that’s what I’ve been telling myself. I don’t think I’ve actually read about anyone on CC who’s incredibly talented and got rejected from absolutely everywhere. If we don’t get in here, it’s because the best place for us is Brown, or Columbia, or some other school.

Hello everyone
I submitted my app for REA and had my interview on Nov. 15.
Few days ago, I checked my november SAT score on collegeboard, and it was sent to harvard on the 23rd.
I checked my application portal, but nothing has really been updated since i submitted my app. And my scores for Nov is not shown, either.
Should I call/email? There is nothing on the portal page that says about my interview, either.
I’d really appreciate your help

@zyU223 Definitely call them about the November scores, but there shouldn’t be an update about the interview… I had my interview last week and I didn’t see anything new on the application portal!

@tdimo97 Thank you! I was unsure because some people tell me that the latter scores will not be shown on the portal. I guess it’s just anxiety problem haha

@clumsy456 very inspiring words that u have written! Indeed we are the future and we have to keep our heads high no matter what… We mustn’t let any failure in life Overtake us… We can always learn from every experience we have in our lives… I feel so blessed that I got to know all u guys , I’m sure u all will make a difference in the world…every single one of u is Amazing in your own unique way, YES EVERY SINGLE ONE!
And don’t stress out… Only a fortnight left till decisions come out… We are all in this together! <3
I know I’ve said this many times BUT good luck to you all and keep smiling… We can do this! INSPIRED
doing a inspired dance lol

I’d like to know: How much of a role did your parents play in the process? I got all my own internships, did all my own college research, picked all my own schools etc. Was it similar for you guys, or did your parents help more?

@entrebusecon My story is the same… Did everything on my own…the research, the applications, the essays, everything… My parents only dropped me off at the interview and that’s it…

@entrebusecon @PcollegegirlP same. internships, volunteering, extracurriculars, all independent. My parents were in Denmark when I submitted the application! I got dropped off at my interview too though.

Good luck to Questbridge applicants tomorrow!!! Does this mean we should start a results thread…? The idea is a little scary!
@entrebusecon: I also did it all on my own My parents aren’t from America, and so they know very little about the college application process here. I did everything independently, from applying for internships to joining ECs to researching schools to writing my essays. They’ve never read my essays, and I’m pretty sure they only know of a few of the schools I’m applying too. I really wouldn’t want it any other way! They’ve been really supportive throughout this whole process. Oh, and I drove myself to my interview haha ;)

@entrebusecon @PcollegegirlP Yep, same here! No fabulous connections in my family. However, my parents really want to see me do well, so they’ve been very involved and supportive throughout this process in a hands-off sort of way.

@PcollegegirlP Thank you so much for the inspirational words! (And the inspired dance.) Y’all are making me feel much better joins inspired dance

@entrebusecon Did everything myself. Well my parents didn’t help because they didn’t know anything about the process (first gen college), but I am really grateful for my teachers and counselor. They helped a lot

@Karabekian That’s a good idea! Everyone get profile pictures! It’s so easy to associate you all with a picture, and see who’s posting

@entrebusecon I guess moral support and rides places. Oh, and they paid for my SAT class. Other than that, grades/internships/essays: i had no help. They haven’t read any of my essays either. I envy kids with parents who edit their essays with awesome criticism!

@entrebusecon casually interested. maybe as a minor? but I self-studied for the AP econ exams and I really enjoyed it…it’s a really interesting subject.

@frozens Thanks!! Don’t start a results thread yet I think. We do find out tomorrow, but remember Harvard isn’t a questbridge partner school. We wouldn’t want to freak anyone out too early you know ;)

@entrebusecon I am currently debating whether to have my minor in either econ, government, or philosophy

Also my experience is more similar to calliemoon11, my parents have supported me, but they don’t have any connections to help me get any opportunities. Although they are there to help whenever I need something from them, such as advice or etc.

@emenya Do questbridge students find out tomorrow?
