@performante not sure if you’re truly being sorry or trying to show off… lol
Any score above 2300 is almost the same thing as 2400; ivy colleges do not even care about your SAT score if it’s above 2250. By your reasoning, I could have easily gotten 2400 if I paid more attention and didn’t make stupid mistakes, and my school is extremely competitive too.
Long story short, go somewhere else if you want to brag about your 2310. There are many other people in this thread who are grave with their scores right now.
@AverageStudent97 Hey…I’m sorry I didn’t mean for it to come off like that…it’s just that I put a lot of pressure on myself, and like a lot of my friends at my school get like 2370+ so from my environment, it seems like a dismal score…I’m very sorry if it made others feel bad, as it was truly not my intention…
@performante I am sorry I spoke that way if you didn’t mean to say what I understood. LOL a lot of people are going through the same pressure, m8. Just keep it calm.
Feeling good; the highest I got on a diag was 2360.
Anyone what the curve was like? I felt like I did pretty eh on the writing, but I ended up getting an 800.
Did anyone get a 12 on their essay? Uggh I thought I did really well on the essay but turns out I didn’t…filled both pages with three very distinct examples so not sure how it went wrong.
@singeorgina Me too. If it’s not for the bad math score I’d be done with SAT now. Are you taking it again? I didn’t expect to do get 740+ on my reading and writing sections. Im really afraid if I take it again just for superscore my reading score might drop. This is my first time taking it too.

@humanerror WHOA we could be twins because I’m in exactly the same situation as you.
Math lower than usual, but CR/W higher than usual; retaking test pros and cons rocky theme song.
I’m taking it again. Just signed up for the March SAT so I have the option to take it if I feel ready, but most likely going to reschedule it to May. But May I have a ****load of AP tests, so there’s that.
I personally had the flu during this test, so I’m positive I might be able to do better next time. It’s true that your score might drop, that’s a risk that comes with retaking the SAT. It all really boils down to how much you think you can do. Do you think you can do better (The answer is most likely yes)? Then take it again. Sometimes you’ll be surprised at what you can do.
(i just realized how overtly motivation speaker-esque this sounds and am now slightly embarassed )
You’re right I mistyped my test is the 21st a lot of my friends were rescheduled to the seventh! my b. Either way my curve will likely be the same as yours
Isn’t it unfair for students who took the test in Jan to have the same curve with those who took it in Feb? I thought CR and Writing were hard for January, but apparently people who took it in February 7 said that those two sections were easier than normal, meaning that Jan people will suffer more by getting more questions wrong and thus getting lower scores.
I think the reading curve was pretty generous. I had many that I was unsure of, but I ended up with a 770, and some people also managed to get 790. Math was harsh, as usual, since so many people can get them all right. And writing was pretty generous as well. @vmiller173
@averageStudent97 I don’t think the curves are the same. I know our SAT was pretty much the exact same as the November 2013 one, so our curves are mostly based off statistics from that test. Likewise, whichever test Feb 7 is based off will have a similar curve, so I don’t think you should worry about getting the short end of the stick. The SAT is designed to prevent these occurences so I think we’re fine.
@medicaldreamer99@averagestudent97 My friend called CB and was told the make up test will have the same curve as Jan test. My friend questioned the different level of the difficulties, CB said they feel these 2 tests have similar difficulties. Go figure.
my first time taking the SAT, took PSAT in october and got 228 (680, 800, 800). studied mostly during the summertime and had attended an SAT prep school in south korea for like 5 days bc of time constraints. used the CB blue book, ripped out the tests, and i think completed 8/10, definitely helpful. i also had the mcgraw hill SAT 2015 book which was alright i guess. i think the blue book is good if you have potential for 2000+.
2310
CR: 740 (not surprised, CR always kills me with some of the harder vocab and the questions just aren’t my strong suit)
M: 770 (after reading all the posts in this thread, seems like curve is harsh but not as harsh as previous times?? i know i totally misread a grid-in question towards the end and maybe missed another one RIP)
W: 800 - raw: 77, essay: 11 (had sudden spasms of stomachaches in one of the earlier sections so i had lost confidence in my score for that… honestly the writing section for the SAT are like 7 rules you need to learn + choose answers that are more concise and don’t use “be”, “being”, etc. essay prompt was the one about courage vs vulnerability, hadn’t practiced since summer which i barely wrote even then and was forced to write one bc of my AP english teacher the day before, filled up the two pages, used 2 examples: queen elizabeth and amir from the kite runner. not an essay expert but i think something important rather than keeping to the “ideal format” is to make your examples interesting, unique, and fresh. the readers have to blaze through the mountains of essay, break the monotony! use active voice? transitions are important and use higher level vocabulary that you are FAMILIAR with.)
retaking in march bc i had already signed up for it as soon as i got home after the january test lol. hoping to maintain my 800 in writing and snag a solid 800 for math… i give up on CR, just gonna try my best and maybe i’ll study a few more vocab words?
