Official June 2nd SATI Thread

Sorry for the redundancy, IHaveAHobbie!

did anyone get a math question like this:
they gave u a really weird curvey graph, and it asks you to find sth like f(5)-f(-5)???
you need to locate the points on a graph, the answer choices were like
a. -3
b. -2
c. 0
d. 1
e. 3???

ok whats so hard about that??? JUST FIND THE POINTS ??? and SUBTRACT!!!

and hobbie, bschenkel i think we are talking about the same answer choice just different wording

yah

20 chars

haha i figured, since everyone got a different answer then me. oh well i guess thats another wrong for me.

So I can’t quite remember…did the first passage talk about how writers’ lives don’t make good biographies/fiction because of writers’ personality traits or whatever, or did it just say that life in general doesn’t make good fiction because “the dialogue is short and shallow” or something to that effect?

I can’t remember what I put or what the passages were even about.

I think it was like: Writing biographies suck because the lives of people are always the same and boring, so biographers are supposed to “fictionalize” some of it.

I think its “life’s do meet the standard of a good fiction”

i concur w/ severed.

Does anyone who had the experimental privacy section remember what else was in that section?

nah i dont- i just remember it being really hard, or at least harder than the squid passage section- when i found out that hte privacy passage was exp. it MADE MY DAY

Katherine do you recognize a question in that section where the answer choices were ‘Stop’ ‘Listen’ ‘Ugh’ ‘Sigh’? I think it was one of the shorter passages that talked about intervening words or something. I think that was experimental?

“anyone get a math question like this:

is this part of experimental math or what?
anyone else got it? cuz i went with the x instead of y
lmao im a dumbasss.

yea i remember that questiona acutally- i put “ugh” but it was experimental so…it doesnt matter

haha yay that section was hard…and i put ugh too lol

btw brownieboy which format did you have? On the after test
<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools;

IHaveaHobbie and Brownieboy…I do not remember that AT ALL. What was the question? And what the heck did it refer to? lol

What else was in that section besides the paired passages? I don’t even remember the short passages.

short passages included the black woman essay and “the others”.

wait i thought that “the others” passage was not in an exp. cr section- i was pretty sure that it was in a real section. don’t wrory about the other questions in the section or what it was referring to b/c it DOESNT MATTER (experimental)

the format that i had was:
Essay
Reading (includes 2 long passages)
Writing
Math (includes SPR questions)
Reading
Equating (the one that doesn’t count toward your score)
Math
Reading
Math
Writing

i remember that it was REALLY annoyihng to have 2 cr passages in a row- section 5 was teh squid one adn section 6 was the privacy one. i was kind of annoyed that i didnt get math until the 4th section, but w/e

thats the same format i had brownieboy, i wonder if you remember if the reading questions had 24, 25, 23, and 18 questions for each of the 4 sections

Did anyone else notice a typo on one of their writing questions? It was supposed to say like “more than” something, but instead it said “more that” something. It was in the identifying errors section, but it wasn’t an underlined part. I’m still wondering if maybe that will affect the curb at all? In the tiniest bit maybe? I’m being optimistic. But probably unrealistic.
