*Official May 6th SAT Discussion*

If you missed three, you’ll still get about a 740.

Oh! I forgot 0 was neither negative or positive… nevermind :P

Wait, did the >100 problem specify that A and B had to be positive integers? (God, I hope so… I might have only missed two in the math instead of three if it did).

Do you guys remember that sentence in that writing section that started off with “Opposite to what blah blah”

Opposite to was incorrect?

jlauer95, there’s a big debate going on about that… About of half of the people here say that it had to be positive integer while the other half (myself included) says that it only said it had to be an integer.

Unfortunately (at least for me), I don’t remember it saying that it had to be a postive integer… I hope it did though, because I forgot about 0 and put that a times b had to be greater than 100 (I forgot 0).

A & B didn’t specify positive integers

“Opposite to” was incorrect, or so I’ve read in another board. It should have been “As opposed to”. I wasn’t positive on that one, but I put “Opposite to”-Mostly because it’s not really something you’d use in the English language unless talking about locations in relation to each other.

What about the sentence with the bird that weren’t particular about where they nested?

I put no error but I think I’m wrong. Someone here said that it should be ‘particular in’ not ‘particular about’

^ i put no error but I think I’m wrong too.

silvermoon~ I agree with you

ay ay ay ay

this thread has sent me into depression…i felt so strongly about a good score too…oh well…im still holding out that maybe there were similar problems but different wording/numbers…but im probably holding out for a lost cause

I put no error, but I pondered over that one for awhile & I still don’t know for sure. That No Error part is what messes me up, but I think in the 2 sections I had those types of problems, I only had a few No Errors.

for the wrens i put no error too so it’s probably wrong since i put it

i had particular in as the error, but changed it

i was thinking hmm " i guess i would say i am not very particular in my taste in music" or something…but who knows…

Yeah… the “no errors” in the writing was the sentence about the Charles Dickens’ Great expectations, the guy that went to the naval medical corps, the plants with nitrogen.

I’m just not so sure if I’m right about the bird sentence though :/

I could have sworn it just had to be an integer. I remember I read that problem very carefully several times.

what would CB do if i emailed and asked?

I think that I had a total of 5 or 6 no errors throughout the entire test.

For the A & B problem: I just ran through that problem, so I’m not going to tell what I put as an answer & worry people.

I know some people are getting nervous about their scores now, but you also have to realize we are discussing the most difficult problems-so naturally the problems people missed would be mentioned. I’ll admit, I know I don’t have all problems right now… But that doesn’t mean you aren’t looking at scores of 700+ just because you see you missed one on this board. (Also take into consideration the May curve is slightly more forgiving than a few other curves.)

umm…yeah…i couldn’t stay away…too much curiosity…

Is the May curve really forgiving? I thought just it was a rumor…

are sure about the may curve? one would assume college board would want to make all of the tests equal?
