Haha, lesson learned. Don’t neglect to write your why northwestern essay until a month after the deadline, and don’t procrastinate!

I’m pretty bummed because I love Northwestern. But everything has a way of working out in the end. 
congrats to all those accepted. And to waitlists/rejects, let’s not lose hope! We have worked so hard, so I’m sure we’ll have good options and a wonderful college life in the end.

@Hawkace Obviously I’m not talking to you. I admire your ability to acknowledge that you may have been rejected for different reasons. But I was talking to the person who was saying that Northwestern waitlisted them because they were too good. I’m not speaking about everyone. Just that person

@CaliCash Wait listing is super weird in my opinion. I got accepted into NU and was wait listed at U of Mich (EA). I got in ED to NU (so don’t know what U of M would have been because I withdrew my app)
@CaliCash “sips tea”? That is just rude. Don’t act so entitled just because you’ve gotten in. People are upset and worried, and they’re trying to comfort themselves. Even if you were to suggest they’re wrong, don’t take such a disparaging tone. We’ve all worked hard here, we don’t deserve your disrespect.
@booapush The decisions prove that standardized testing and grades are not they key to getting in.
My best friend for rejected by her dream college. My advice to her: If this rejections hurts that bad, go out, and stick it to them. Fight to be the best you can be and when you become the most successful person in your field and are making a speech at a convention or event, make sure to start off by saying “Before I begin, I would like to thank _________ for rejecting me…”

@CaliCash I know a student at my school who was accepted over another student. Between those two students, the one that was accepted had significantly lower statistics (4 point difference on ACT) and a significantly lower GPA. Stop attacking other people who are just trying to feel better about their rejections/waitlists. Congratulations on your acceptance.
