I still haven’t gotten an email. It sure would make me happy if there was an error on their part and my rejection was actually meant to be an acceptance

Accepted as an international… 2200 SAT, 3.99 GPA, didn’t apply for aid.
I got accepted to McCormick 2030 SAT, 3.7 GPA. This is so FREAKING surreal. Gonna put my stats on the decisions thread.

anyone know if the housing lottery is determined by when you respond that you’re going there? as in first come first served? or is it totally random?

Once again, huge congratulations to those who got in! You should be very proud. Don’t let anyone take this away from you. To those who were denied admission (don’t really like the connotation with the word rejected), you were all extremely qualified. You should be proud as well. I believe that everything happens for a reason. If you weren’t accepted, it was because greener pastures lay elsewhere. Good luck! 
To be honest if there isn’t an opportunity to chant “What team?” “WILDCATS” at least once a day I’ll be extremely disappointed…just trying to pay homage to high school musical over here
@ikadiggit sort of. I mean I’ve heard that we get to put down our 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice, etc, but ultimately it is up to the housing lottery if we get that choice. So I am asking if the sooner you commit to NU, do you have a higher up place in the lottery (aka a better chance of getting the dorm you want)? or is it just completely random

That’s a possibility but we don’t choose our housing for quite a while I believe. I do know that those who have already selected roommates are given priority over those who haven’t and that we will start the roommate process around May. I want to say that actual housing selection begins in June, but I’m not positive.
And I think the earlier you find a roommate, the better.
