****OFFICIAL Northwestern CLASS OF 2020 Discussion Thread****

Don’t lose hope if your GPA/test scores are on the lower end. Last year, my school’s valedictorian was waitlisted (4.5 GPA, 2240 SAT), while students with ~3.4s and ~1600s were accepted. Admission into Northwestern can really seem like a crap shoot.

Except it isn’t @smb63097 Those people with the 1600s must’ve had a better all round application and more impressive ECs.

Exactly a week left :’) The moment of truth approaches

How many of you guys think decisions will be out before the 15th?

@adu1998 I am hoping for this Friday

@CaliCash That’s really reassuring…Thank you

Has northwestern sent anyone an email about when exactly results will come out? I know Barnard, Columbia, Brown and Cornell have.

@petercsauer admissions decisions could be released any day before or on December 15th.

guys, work on some RD apps and don’t stress, it’s in 1 week or so max.

With a SAT score of 2070, I’m expecting to get a rejection letter. :frowning:

@Socsar SAT scores are just a part of the application, and I know what I just said is extremely cliched and overused, but seriously, it’s just a part - so chill.

can anyone tell me if im just kidding myself with a 3.55 and 33 act but tons of demonstrated interest towards the school and my major, journalism (through EC’s and summer programs)?

@browantscollege - Awesome Username btw :slight_smile: I don’t know anything about GPA and stuff (I’m international) - but 33 on the ACT is nothing to scoff at. And I think you stand just as much of a chance as anyone else on this thread, plus you applied ED so that boosts your application into the proverbial stratosphere.

So I emailed the admissions office asking about a release date and got this:

Thank you for contacting the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Applicants will receive an application decision by mid-December. We will notify applicants of their decision via e-mail. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a specific date.

I think they probably would have said they would come out on the 15th if that date was definite, so i’d guess they could come out any time between now and then.

@Socsar I was admitted with a 1970, super scored.

@acx820 Hell yeah! I’m gonna be a Peer Advisor for freshmen next year so maybe I’ll be advising some of you :slight_smile:

@CaliCash Are you an athlete/URM/First Generation/Hook?

Did anyone else notice that the common app actually let your supplement go to 350 words? Did anyone else go a little over 300 :stuck_out_tongue:

@McKilla99 @CaliCash Thanks guys–You guys made me feel a lot better. I guess I should just stop worrying and wait for the result right now. :slight_smile:

nervous, nervous, nervous…
