****OFFICIAL Northwestern CLASS OF 2020 Discussion Thread****

Big thank you to the people talking about the parent ed agreement. The additional anxiety is much appreciated.

trying to stay nonchalant after rejection if it happens. . . since i applied binding, the rejection would allow me to apply to (n possibly attend) other schools tht i really wanna go tooooo

haha agreed for sure, But at the same time, it’s cool that checking the parent Ed agreement could have been a loophole that the admissions people overlooked

@TheMagicMarker What kind of mindset are you trying to hold?

^^ First on my list would probably be “they didn’t accept me” tbh. I put plenty of my energy just to wait for the decision and I think I’ll be devastated if I’m rejected (which is likely, cause my essays are kinda too generic and my scores can’t really be compared).
But anyway the silver lining is that I haven’t met anyone applying for Comm Studies this year so I’m selfishly praying that competition is low for me :-S Any fellow Comm Studies hopefuls here, though?

Someone should make a movie out of this…

[Ominous voice] A looming deadline fraught with peril, anxiety at every turn, and one student who will do whatever it takes to make it through. [Cue dramatic music] Scouring the web for clues, a covert mission to discover the truth. What. Will. Happen?

Coming soon to a theater near you!

Just out of curiosity, are you the guys the type to open up the decision as soon as it arrives or to agonize over it for an hour or two then look at it? I think I’m gonna be the latter.

@smb63097 I’m going to pretend that nothing is happening, close my email window, and only check it at six on Monday and Tuesday. I will then either jump for joy or quietly sob with my dog and a plate of cookies.

So we have to go through the email to the Northwestern student portal on Tuesday to find out?

@driedmangoes there is no chance of me extending the agony of waiting for even a second longer than I have to. I’m gonna login to the portal 50x on Tuesday (probably a few times Monday, just to be REALLY sure) and at 3:30PST, if the decisions don’t come out on the dot, I will come here and spam post complaints that I should’ve gotten the email. I will then proceed to call Northwestern Admissions and question them, not knowing that the decision has been sent to my email. While I hang up on the lady mid-convo, I open up the portal and the words are in bold, right in the center of the screen:

Rejected.

Then I will rub my eyes a few times and refresh JUST TO MAKE SURE there was no accident or anything. And finally, I will begin to tear up as I work on my calculus homework.

POLL:
LIKE if you expect to be ACCEPTED

vote HELPFUL if you expect to be REJECTED

So we have to go through the email to the Northwestern student portal on Tuesday to find out?

someone answer please!

@rwerner16 Yeah I’m pretty sure that’s how it works. also do you happen to live in the Bay Area?

I do @driedmangoes what school do you go to?

wait guys so about the portal, did NU already give us an account or will the password be given to us on the 15th when they release the emails?

@toothpasteonface we haven’t received an email from NU but if you go on the site and click ‘forgot password’ you can log on

I for one did not, I believe that only people who requested a “forgot password” action can currently log into that portal. I would guess that they will send us a mx.technolutions link (for tracking) with either a temporary pin in the email or a custom activation link for the portal.

@headintheclauds what do you guys mean by downloaded??

Is anyone here both an international student and applying for financial aid?
