rejected lolol was expecting it. my numbers were not high enough. congrats to everyone accepted
No Northwestern felt I wouldnāt add to the ādiversityā LMAO. But yeah, to all the people that got in GOOD JOB!!! To all the people that didnāt, NW doesnāt matter and is not a good evaluation of you.
@mileabovethesky Take your Caltech acceptance and leave. No need to degrade other peopleās accomplishments. This is from one rejectee to another.
Sorry was on the phone and typing at the same time. Still waiting on Vanderbilt.
Hey though, people that got in, I really respect you. However, if you didnāt get in, donāt feel bad. This is a tough admissions cycle. Rejectee here who got into Caltech, Cornell, and MIT so far (most probably attending caltech though).
waitlistedā¦donāt really know how to feel esp. after this weekās MIT and Chicago rejections? Glad NW liked me more i guess
@mileabovethesky Cool, you got into good schools. Sweet. Now leave.
Best of luck to those who didnāt get in, and a welcome to those who did from all of us who were accepted ED!
@jacobpilawa thereās no need to be salty. Just tryna send a message that this was tough and to take it with a grain of salt.
With the ridiculous amount of qualified applicants and the extremely low RD acceptance rate, I just want to remind everyone who got rejected to take this decision with a grain of salt (I know I am).
Edit: also consider the f*ckton of ED applicants that got accepted, which made the RD round even more cutthroat than usual.
From what Iāve gathered on this thread and the decision thread, youāre all extraordinarily intelligent and talented - accepted or not. I wish you all the best.
Waitlisted. Though disappointed, it is OK. Will move on
@jacobpilawa - what do you think went wrong? You have unbelievable credentials! and a NASA job???
@jacobpilawa i respect the guy for not taking the same approach to me initially. He is probably an elite student. But its the nature of NWern, they accepted 50% ED, they have certain things they need to have, thus RD was extremely specific and tough.
Waitlisted for theatre. Any chance of getting in???!!!
@yalebound2020 I have no clue ā I had 3 recommendations that were from an AP Art History teacher (smartest person Iāve ever met), AP French teacher (2nd smartest person Iāve ever met), and an AP English Language teacher (he asked me if he could write a recommendation for me). I personally though that my Northwestern essay was the best one that I wrote in terms of supplemental essays.
Havenāt felt this worthless about my work ever. Hope I can get into at least one school.
@yalebound2020 protecting their yield? its so strange
These days, I feel like a lot of colleges are trying to turn students to their ED programs.
Rejected as expected. Congrats to everyone else!
@jacobpilawa You applied for engineering, right? Did you get a LOR from Math/Science teachers?
You submitted SAT subject in Math and Science? Did you report AP scores in Math and Science?
@kittymom Yeah, I applied Engineering. No, I didnāt have a LOR from Math/Science teachers because frankly, my counselor told me that the teachers that I had did not write the best letters, and that it was better to ask my other teachers who were known for good recommendations.
I submitted a 750 Math II and a 750 Chemistry Subject test. I submitted my one AP science score that I had at that time (4 AP Chemistry). I am taking AP Calculus BC and AP Physics C this year, however.
