I really don’t think I’m going to get in but we’ll SEE!!
I called the office and they said sending in senior grades is not required and truly optional idk
Are results coming out exactly on the 15th… Ughhh wish they send it out earlier
I just found this page and after reading all eleven pages im glad I found it I applied with a 29 and 4.5 weighted gpa LOL at least im not getting my hopes up anymore. I applied ED because I was hoping the legacy and “holistic” looking at an applicant would pull through. Also IMPORTANT QUESTION! I cant find the answer anywhere but on December 15, how does NU notify us? are we sent an email with a verdict like some school or is there a link to go to or do they email us a link?
Is there a specific time that the ED decisions come out?
@2021person Last year decisions came out on the 14th so this year it’ll probably be the 14th or the 15th.
@MrAustere Looking at threads they came out around 6:30 pm or so for common app applicants on the 14th last year so it’ll probably be around the same time this year.
I’ll be refreshing my portal basically every 10 minutes that week
@bollywooddiva99 I think they will email us some kind of account to a Northwestern page and on there (after you have logged in) it will either read that you have been accepted/deferred/rejected … something along those lines (that’s what I got from the previous Northwestern threads) @Narwhal14 mentioned it too on the previous page
If you guys go to https://ugadmission.northwestern.edu/account/login and hit forgot password and put the email you applied with and your birthdate you can make your account now so you don’t have to wait until they send the email out
I’m really anxious about the decision right now. I was just planning about my Christmas break, but if i get rejected, I basically can’t go anywhere.
is 1500 new sat single score, 1520 super score good? Do they use super score for new sat? Thanks
@plopsun Northwestern does superscore the new SAT (their rep told me!). 1500 translates to about 2150 or 2160 on old SAT scale and your superscore amounts to roughly 2240. This isnt going to hurt you but you wont really be a standout academically. you’ll basically be above average. For the record, I have 2240 as well so we’re in the same band test wise!. At this point the holistic review could play a big role in determining the final decision based on your recs, extracurriculars etc. Best of luck!

Hey guys check this out, it would help you feel better if you are worrying about your stats
Thanks man you’re very nice
Does anyone know if NWU sends out any correspondence to the applicants before results date
@rsmith0208 you should have gotten en email from them saying your application is complete but I think that’s it
Do you think they look differently at international students scores?
@Zpower99 the link to the thread you provided is from 2011! There’s no way that any statistical data from 5 years ago would apply today. In addition, there are test score stats that fall well outside Northwestern’s norms as the school has been committed to accepting students through Questbridge which links low income students with strong academic potential to top tier schools like NU. Such students demonstrate a high level of academic achievement but often do not have access to test prep programs to boost their scores.
@gutasaraiva technically no because they stated that “international applicants follow the same application procedures as domestic applicants” on their website
But, if you are an international student applying for financial aid, your application would have to go through a stricter/a more thorough reviewing (inferring here)
From Northwestern’s website: “The funding for this program is very limited. Northwestern’s acceptance rate for international applicants requesting aid is less favorable than acceptance for students not requesting aid.”
They sent me an email regarding financial aid too: “Northwestern’s admission committee uses a need-aware approach to application review for international applicants who apply for financial aid. We are committed to meeting all of a family’s demonstrated financial need for every student we admit. As a result, a request for financial aid and the amount of financial aid you require may be a factor in our final admission decision.”
Yep, so I’m guessing that admissions for international student applying for financial aid would be separate… BUT if you are not applying for financial aid, same standards of testing and admission criteria would be applied
If you are asking whether they would know what kind of scores would suggest what level of academic achievement in our countries… I think they have sufficient data from previous years to fall back on … uh wow this is a very long post but I hope it helped uhm someone
