Official Northwestern Transfer - Fall 2012

I know it may be a sore subject but has anyone heard back recently that got rejected? I don’t want stats or anything, it just seems like out of all the people on this thread, only a few people have actually heard back.

I assume it may be because the “main” batch of decisions have yet to be sent out. I predict more of us will hear next week. Eeek!

I received an acceptance email two days ago and received the acceptance envelope in the mail. Can’t wait!

Congrats @inspirose ! do you mind posting your stats?

judgment week?

good luck, everyone.

so it’s june 11 and still waiting. anyone found out yet who hasn’t? i finish my app back in march. and am a rising junior. i’m leaving for china in two weeks so hopefully they send stuff out soon!

It’s June 12th, and I still have yet to hear back. Hopefully, I’ll hear back by June 15 (Friday). Them taking this to make a decision makes me really antsy. I feel if I were a really horrible or exceptional applicant, wouldn’t they just have rejected or accepted me straight out in the beginning? Taking this long means they’re deliberating on my application, but I don’t know whether that’s a good or a bad thing :(

Does anyone know if they do waitlisting for transfers?

@CluelessBelle, for some reason I have it in my head that they don’t do waitlist for transfers. I may be wrong! But I don’t see how they would even do waitlisting given the time they’re taking to get back to the applicants first.

Did anyone apply to Medill?

I applied to Medill, haven’t heard back though… Im so nervous! I want to find out already! :s

Aaaahhh!! And here I was thinking I was the only one… hahah it’s a tough world for us Medill prospects. Glad to know someone else is going through the anxiety attack with me, haha.

I don’t know if it’s true, but someone on last year’s transfer group said NU accepted 0 transfers into Medill…

i don’t think they wait list. why would they with rolling admissions? good luck friends!

@flysaex

Seriously??? Oh god! I didn´t know that… Now i´m panicking even more!! haha but yeah… I´m glad to know we´re going through the same thing. I really really want to go to Northwestern, and since I´ve already gotten rejected from the other two schools I applied to, I´m terified I won´t get in (which I know is very likely) :s :s :s

Do you think we´ll hear back this week?

I suspected people would start receiving their decisions in batches starting this week but I suppose not, given the lack of posts. Maybe next week? Since it’ll officially be “mid-June” by then, and that’s by when a transfer coordinator said the office hopes to release decisions.

NU is the only school I applied to for transfer – it’s not like I hate my school, but I just don’t want to be anywhere else but Medill!!

Fingers crossed for both of us!

@flysaex where do you go now? kind of in the same boat as you (though not for medill). i already turned down admission to washu and am just waiting on this… D:

@hashtagadrienne For the sake of anonymity I don’t want to say which specific school, but it’s a pretty good state institution (top 50).

It’s pretty messed up that they do this. I called and they said I’d be hearing back mid to late june. what kind of **** is that?

Now the first thing when I get up every morning is to check email. How pathetic is that?

It’s even worse for me because I’m waiting to hear back from 2 schools. The other school I’m applying to said on their website that decisions should start coming out in late MAY; here it is mid-June and I’m still waiting le sigh

I remember from Freshman admissions that every school I applied to that took this long to reply I was rejected from. If I’m going to end up getting rejected, why don’t they just do it right out instead of making me all anxious? If they had rejected me straight out in the beginning, I would have been over it by now. Drawing it out like this may be giving me false hope

Northwestern Admissions seems to draw out releasing decisions every year - though it was worse in previous years when you just had to wait with bated breath for the mail to arrive because NU didn’t release decisions via email. Nearly all of last years’ transfers who I talked to about this pretty much all received their admissions within a two or three day span in late June (I received mine on June 24th, I believe). The timeline creates a lot of problems for people who have already received decisions from other schools, many of whom are now demanding a commitment.
Congratulations are in order for those of you who have been admitted already and I offer my condolences to those who were not so fortunate in the crapshoot that is transfer admissions.

Wikxiskskwknwk accepted i am so excited i don’t know what to do with myself
