Three months actually. We’ll hear in early April mostly. We’ll have to make our decisions by May 1st. Regardless, I do agree. I wish we could find out immediately. It’s particularly excruciating for ED/EA folks who’ve already been through the process once.

@srrinath

:( yes, yes it is.

I’m from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago Land (kind of like exurbs because they’re a good hour away from Chicago). I love Chicago and Illinois in general. I’m a hopeful engineering major with plans on trying to get into an MBA program later (start my own engineering firm). I also applied to the following schools:

UMich - Accepted
UIUC - Accepted
Purdue - Accepted
MIT - Rejected
Cornell - Pending (RD)
Caltech - Pending (RD)
Stanford - Pending (RD)

Northwestern is currently tied as my top choice with Stanford. MIT used to be, but it is MIT, and it is a crap shoot (like Stanford and Caltech LOL). GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ELSE!

^Good that you’ve chosen to start out early on your apps. UIUC and UMich are great schools to have as backups if you’re an engineering major. UIUC, in particular, has an amazing ECE program.

Yeah I’m so happy that I got in @ those schools. I’m really an underdog applicant because I have a 3.338 UW GPA (freshman year). I was so blown away when I got into UMich and MATSE @ UIUC (which is pretty darn competitive for priority admit). It was definitely my essays and other stuff. My transcript shows an extreme upward climb (from straight B’s and one C freshman year, with the C being in physics to straight As with a close A+ in AP Chem). I’ve also done chemE research and my teacher recs are STELLAR. I’m applying to my RD schools EXPECTING rejection, but I absolutely have to know if I would have gotten in. I can’t just NOT apply and wonder all my 4 years of undergrad. :-)

Hey all. I’m from Southern California, and I’m applying as a political science major. Female, middle eastern, first generation. I’m a politics geek, appropriately enough, and that’s what I want to do when I finish school. I also love music, playing the guitar, and watching waaaaaay too much TV.

@samedifference

oh please. “i also love music”… please proceed to list genres, artists, etc. :-P

@Vhiremath4- haha I’m one of those wishy-washy people who has never met a genre she didn’t like (I’m not too crazy about country, but I’ve found a few things I like). My all-time favorite artist is The Beatles/John Lennon, but I also really love Spoon, Kanye West, Barenaked Ladies, The New Pornographers, Iron & Wine, Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes, The Gaslight Anthem, Regina Spektor, Counting Crows, The Decemberists, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Charlotte Sometimes. :)

haha that’s cool. i’m addicted to anything techno (especially house, dirty house, electro, and the hard progressive/house/electro genre thing deadmau5 and wolfgang gartner has going on). i also love every other genre (including screamo LOL). most country i cannot stand, but i’ll deal with some.

Hi I’m from Ontario, Canada. I’m hit submit on my app to Mccormick for biomedical engineering. I was deferred ED at Dartmouth. I love inventing, but I’m not too nerdy. XD
I love music; I listen to a lot of classic and modern rock. I love photographing still life and lightbulbs. :D

o HAY if we’re still talking music

i’m really eclectic. I love stuff like deadmau5 (LOL USERNAME) and daft punk, but I’m also into Radiohead and LCD Soundsystem. But one of my all-time favorite bands is Brand New. And I’m known to blast stuff like Outkast, Lil Wayne and K’naan for weeks on end. If I get to NU and any of you become my roommate, sorry in advance for having to be stuck with a musical schizophrenic :P

Hey, I’m from Southern Cal (but not U$C choking motion). Applying as a Radio/TV/Film major. I want to learn theory, and then go to grad school to get an MBA/MFA to become a producer. I really like sports. I would LOVE to sport the purple and white everywhere and anywhere. NU is somewhat of a reach, but also one of my top choices.

So hey all! :D

^Hm, if you want to do film and whatnot, why not USC?

i’m from connecticut. hoping to major in social policy. im a huge brand new fan too. i saw them a few weeks ago here in CT and it was amazing.

No way! I saw them in MD! Daisy tour, right? Amazing stuff.

Hey all - I’m from the western Chicago suburbs (like everyone else - gotta love demographic quotas). Female, white (makes me even MORE unique!). Potential Theatre/Musical Theatre Certificate Major, and would probably try to get into the Integrated Marketing Communications Certificate program through Medill. Deferred from ED (YESSS!) but trying not to get my hopes up for RD - Does anyone know the stats on accepted/rejected/deferred applicants? I heard something like 23%/67%/10%?

I just submitted! Maybe I’ll see you in the theatre program, ark? :)

i heard along the same lines ark. good luck and hope to see yall there :)

wisdom: hopefully!!

agree with wangatang, best of luck and hopefully we will all meet in august (or whenever orientation is)

@ark: cubs or white sox? :)
