Just under 35% were accepted early this year. (The NY Times had the #'s.) Last year, the first year that NU deferred, 3.5% were deferred. They deferred a somewhat higher percentage this year, although I do not know the exact number for that yet.

Yayy Illinois/female whites/demographic quotas
hahahaha.

Hellloooo everyone.
I’m a white female from Wisconsin (anyone else think this sounds like a lame personal ad?).
Applied to Medill through QuestBridge, was a finalist, and then denied. sigh
So RD for me, now. I don’t know whether NU is my first choice anymore, though. I absolutely loved it when I visited, but it’s also the one of the only two schools I visited since I’m applying all over the country and I’m too broke to fly to Boston or L.A. Haha.

So, nice to meet you wonderful people. And benign, I’m on the same boat as you with the magazine thing.

^What schools in LA are you applying to? :)

Hi all!

I’m from MN, and my interests at Northwestern lie in English/Creative Writing and Anthropology. I applied ED to Barnard College of Columbia University and UChicago and was deferred at both places. Regular decision, I’ve applied to Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, NYU, Vassar, the U of MN (accepted!), and Swarthmore.

Good luck to you all! I’ll be around. :)

I also applied to University of Wisconsin-Madison EA and got in. Now I’m just waiting to hear from Northwestern, University of Southern California (top choice but the School of Cinematic Arts is selective), University of California-Los Angeles (don’t think I’ll get in), New York University (Tisch is also selective), and Carnegie Mellon University (applied to the least competitive school, heh).

is anyone else interested in SESP?

Anyone else get an email from NU saying that the supplement doesn’t have to be sent in for another two weeks?

Yep, I did. =D
Good luck guys!

"Dear Max,

If you intend to apply to Northwestern, please note that only the Common Application itself and the application fee (or acceptable fee waiver) must be submitted by midnight tonight. You will have an additional two weeks to submit the other components of the application (recommendations, supplement, etc.).

Warm regards,

Office of Admission

P.S. - don’t forget to tune in today’s Outback Bowl to root for the Wildcats!"
