Do you think CR was hard? This is far below what i expected!
and one more question. Do many colleges actually use composite scores or do they just take test by test?

I’m on the verge of suicide. I took practice tests which gave me 700+ on each section and I get this **** overall. I swear to god I’m going to *ing commit suicide if I don’t get into a college because of this . I prepped a decent amount, and one of the math sections totally screwed me over. All I have now is this * score or a 26 ACT. I’m ****ED. 3.2 + this score won’t get me in anywhere. Thing is, I have A’s in ap chem, ap bio, ap lit, c++, precalc, and I’m self studying AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Macro/Micro economics. Talk about underrepresented eh?

Target: 1600 M + CR, hopeful for a 2400 but fine without it because what matters for the schools I’m applying to is the composite from different administrations

Composite: 2340
M: 800
CR: 800
W: 740

Retake: Na. I’m out with standardized testing.

I posted this in a previous thread: Is it dishonest to say you have perfect SAT scores if you splice individual scores from different administrations? I just need to tell my mom “I have perfect SAT scores” because she laughed at me when I told her I would break 1500 on the old SAT (which I did easily, but that’s not as fun as getting perfect).

Another question: Should I say something about my writing score in my application? I got an 8 on the essay. Yes, an 8, you CC overachievers. Out of 12. I have a little problem (dysgraphia) that’s afflicted me since I was little, but I don’t like to push it to get a break that regular people don’t. Otherwise, I might have tried to arrange some special testing or something with the College Board. When I use a computer and have time to think through what I want to say, I write nothing like I do on the SAT essay. So, should I say something? My essay was so bad and disorganized that I’m afraid colleges are going to think I plagiarized or paid someone else to do my college essays.

Indian man: SAT scores are NOT everything. Obviously, you are a good student. You show incredible initiative. Dude, if you are truly an Indian, you are going to have a break. Obviously since you were getting 700+ on each section when you took practice tests, you just goofed. You can do take it over again, and if the college defers you, you can make sure they see your new SAT scores. It’s not over man.

Math: 640

I did worse on the reading part, too. Thought this was strange.
Are these good enough for USC?

Target: improve in CR
Composite: 2210
710 CR
700 M
800 W
Combined with my math score from last time, I have a 2250!
Retake: hellllllssss no

ienfur - where have you been accepted?

congrats, anyhow, that’s awesome!

Target: 2200

Composite: 2170
Math: 700
CR: 800
W: …670. (9 E (!!), 66 MC)

Retake: Oh my god YES. That writing score is terrible for me-- writing is in fact one of the things I do better in. Anyway, on the ACT taken all of two weeks before the SAT, I definitely got an 11, so I know I can do better. And I will. I think part of the 9 was that I insulted pregnant women in my essay. Oops.
Anyway, the ironic thing? Had the math been 670 and the writing 700, I don’t know if I’d be retaking it. However…

Target: anything over 2000

Composite: 1850
Math: 690
CR: 540
W: 620 (9 E, 61MC)

Retake: yeah, just for fun.

i wasn’t that serious, since my scores won’t even be recorded (college board erases your sat scores when you are not in high school yet). i might take one in january to see if i can break 2000.

Target: Anything over 2000.

Best Composite: 2090

No.

oh man, HOW do you guys get 12 on essays??? crazy smart ppl…:)

I’ve taken the SAT 3 times. On the essays, I have gotten 11, 12, and 12.

Target:1800

Composite: 1690
Math 440 (horrible just horrible)
CR 630
W 620 (12/E, MC 54)

Retake: Yeah I’m only off by 110 points so I will hit the books harder and kill off partying for the rest of the year. I was disappointed in my critical reading score and really disappointed in the writing score English is my GPA booster! Well I have one more chance so I’ll have to do my best! Oh yes and to the people who have over 2000+ and are complaining… God I would kill for that score right now!

I’ve gotten a 12 and an 11 on my two SAT essays. Both 4 paragraphs. Neither had a historical/political/literary reference.

FWIW…
